just got my little kei work truck - as soon as I can read through the picture posting stuff it will sit beside my delica. its fun 50 mpg and perky. Ultimate work truck

I bought a 2x suzuki as a temporary till I can bring in a 4x - if anyone else is interested in filling a container let me know

the little KEI is a great fun work truck BUT change the oil every 3000 km with out fail or you will tear out the bearings...ask me how i know...

Good on you buying a Carry!! Looks like a perfect little work truck, not like my two immediate neighbors whom drive around in nice new fullsized diesel 1 ton flatbeds everyday - with nothing on the bed 90 % of the time, and even when carrying something it's just a load of lumber or a couple of wheelbarrels. Can you say overkill.

Did you check with a tape measure; would the carry fit inside your Delica? Now that would make a great photo op.

thanks for the tip about the oil. Haven't had anything with a carburater for a while. Hopefully these things aren't finicky.

Only problem taking tt to jobsites so far is not much work gets done and everybody wants one.

OK, the Carry is 54" wide and the back of the Deli's doors are 49" wide. Even though the Deli is 54" to the top of the rear windows, looks like it won't fit.

Some needs to find a Kei car under 49" to drive into the back of a Delica.

width is the one dimension that the Delica doesn't have... we have lots of height and length... but width is a difficult one...

it is the perfect work truck. I used to do a lot design build and had 2 landcruiser 1 ton trucks for gulf island construction. When they finally crumbled with rust I switched to a ford masonry style truck (propane). The truck was for moving timberframe material. What I found was that the truck sat around between big loads and my vw van got trashed carrying tools.

I"m involved in less construction work but in my experience 99% of the time a carry sized vehicle is all a contratcor needs. The balance of the time hiring a delivery firm or renting an appropriate vehicle is much more environmentally friendly and more cost affective.

Look at all the trucks on the highway tomorrow - what percentage have anything in them!!! It geels good working in something that get 50 mpg and can still carry a 1/2 ton (or less).

Feels a bit like a motorcycle - had trouble with the shifting till I realized it was designed as a joystick raither than a shift knob.

Love this truck - but I want the 4wd with a dump (diesel would be nice.

I have the next size up from the Suzuki Carry...a Toyota Liteace 'Justlow'. 1.5L petrol engine, 750kg cargo capacity!!, bed is an enormous 8' long X5' wide and it drops down on all sides, 5-on-the-tree shifting. Love it.

I have a Honda Acty and a Lite-ace . The acty is just a little on the small side but well engineered . I personally enjoy using the lite-ace for the shop truck . Mine had a genuine 9,000km on it and still drives like new . Only down side is the rear tires are a 12.5" which are not made here . I have found some Hyundai rims to fit it but not got the load rated tires yet . Psilosin have you changed the rear wheels or are they original ??

Yeah I had to take the liteace over the Coquihalla in January so I wanted some type of winter tire on there. Like you know, the stock rear tire is a big fatty like a dragster lol and I don't think its winter performance would be too sweet.

I managed to fit on some 13" Mazda 323 rims on the rear. Anything with a 4X4.5 bolt pattern should fit just a matter of offset. SOme examples: 12" ford festiva; 13" 80's/90's mazda 323, 80's hyundai excel; 14" early-mid 80's Celica (might be 15" actually).

And you are right you cannot find tires locally that have the proper load rating so if you swap wheels and buy local tires your max payload is 500kg. However, over on ivoca.ca there was a thread that JIS tires are acceptable now in BC so I'd like to get a new set of proper front and rear tires from Japan. Just a matter of finding a company that will import them without shipping etc making it not ecconomically feasible. Maybe if you need a set too we can get a better deal?

Mine had 6,500km when I bought it...almost at the 10,000km mark now lol. I think one of its great features is its complete simplicity and spartan design...I think you could fix almost anything on that truck with a knife and fork!
