Qustions Questions

I am looking at Delicas these days,

But I have a few questions about things as I sort through what I would like in a Delica.

First, is it that important to have a water cooled turbo (like in the 93/94 l300 models)? Or, How important is it?

Also, at 100km what rpm do these babies sit at? Can they get up to 130km to pass someone if need be?

I am moving from a Jeep cherokee to the Delica. Does any one know how the Delica would feel in comparison. Ride, handling, off road ect. I realise that there is a power differance but my spinning tires days are gone.

thanks people!

Kurt

dont expect most delicas to be able to do 130k/hr, from a cherokee, you will feel like your sitting up in a chair compared to having your feet out infront of you, you can get your delica to have ALOT more power, but that also equals more money, my favorite one I had had a larger turbo and performace head, also full stainless exhaust with 2,3/4 tubing, I had that one up to 140k/hr@2500 rpm's thats nothing for a gas engine, but diesels dont like to rev, my landcruiser I have now only ever goes up to 2000rpm.
any obstical can be tackled with money, but the delica is Much more versitile than the jeep, the jeep will outperform the delica offroad in general, Not in all cases, but ive wheeled both and I know the limitations of the delica off road,
parking is Amazingly easy in a delica as your front corner mirror and back mirror make it great,
you will get alot better milage in the delica than the jeep
and you really cant forget about the COOL factor of the Delica.
But if speed is your thing even on bursts of highway speed, the Delica is not the winner .
I have a tricked out L400 coming in a couple months, they have alot more speed than the L300 and can do passing speeds on the highway with out any issues at all.

Thanks Noel,

That helps me alot. It also lets me know were the l400 sits in the mix (which I also am considering).

Actually, most of the time I never go above 2000rpm on the jeep! I find I can keep up with the average traffic just fine. Every once and a while the extra revs are nice to pass and get on to buisy highways. This is why I am exited about the idea of a diesel. I would like the power down low as apposed to at 4-5000rpm.

Cheers,
Kurt
