I have a knocking noise in the lower part of my 88 Delica Exceed. I've been told it could be a rocker arm broken. I've check the rocker arms on the head and all seems to be intact. Is there a lower rocker arm? Can anyone help?

not likely to be a rocker arm, but I would pull your oil pan and check your crank bearings, they are normally fairly worn, I just did the ones in my landcruiser and glad I did, a fair amount of pitting in the skin of them.
DONT get them mixed up if you do pull them out to check, as you will either need a new set right away to replace them, or you will have to put them back in the EXACT same place, uppers go in the upper and lowers in the lower, DON'T get them mixed up.

Noel is correct about bearings - if that is the cause.

But, have you checked the adjustment of your rockers? It takes a little bit of effort to do, but it may be the source of your noise (usually a ticking or "tacking" sound). Bearings tend to be a deeper toned "tock" sound.

easiest way to diagnose engine bearing failure is to cut the oil filter open to expose filter element and look for metal fillings. If you find it, bearings are possibly gone. If none, then you're lucky. It could just pin the wrist pins or worst case piston slap.
