This may not be the right place to ask this but has anyone noticed a sticker on some pumps that warns of a 10% Ethanol Blended Diesel Fuel?

I was camping north of squamish and had to fill up on the way back. After I had already filled up I noticed a sticker on the petro canada pump that they were selling e-Diesal.

I cannot find a lot about it online. Most of the online information seems a little light and very optimistic but it really sounds like this is a test project.

We passed 5 delica's in squamish so I am wondering if any of the local trucks have been burning the ethanol blend and if so have you noticed any thing?

So far I haven't seen it in Coquitlam but I always fill up at the same station.

I thought ethanol was a substitute for gasoline, not diesel. Especially considering the combustability component in diesel (cetane) is different that gasoline (octane). Mind you, from the material I just read, it is supposed to cut down on the particulate emissions which are what gives diesel it's "dirty" name. Of course, switching to WVO is another way to dramatically cut down on particulate emissions.

Personally, unless the ethanol is coming from renewable sources and non-food sources (such as the waste by-product from a food source), I don't have a problem with it. But when it is the primary source, well that's a different story for a different forum.
