Just read in another post about someone being passed by a Deli at geat speed, Just wondering what most people feel comfortable with for a top speed and RPM for long distance cruise. I drive the island highway each day and I cruise at 120KM on the flats or downhill, a bit slower up hill. I travel alone.
120km/h 3250 rpms

the space antelope's top speed was 140km/h. i got to that twice no problem. it was in the 3200rpm range. i usually like to go 100-120km/h on my frequent island hwy travels. but if i have lots of time then i like to drive 80-100 and laugh all the way at the v6 v8 guzzlers that are passing me in their huge shiny and EMPTY trucks and SUVs

I've had Gumdrop up to 125. Her most comfortable highway cruise speed is 100.

150 kph in the Vantasy!
I cruise at 120 kph, sitting at a hair over 3000 rpm, which seems to be a bit lower than my buddys Deli. He needs nearly 3500 rpm to hit 120 kph on flat highway. I've seen just under 150 kph coming home through Idaho down a rather large hill. The Vantasy was starting to shake and wander a bit! On the other end of the spectrum I can only manage 60 kph approaching the toll booth on #5....

I got up to 140kph on the freeway and decided that was fast enough, didn't really see the need to go any faster, although it seemed as though she'd go faster.

120 km/h most the way down to las vegas and back. Never felt the need to go faster. I killed a lot of bugs at this speed. Once you start driving at 120, 100 seems slow - although I kind of feel like I'm pushing the van too hard. No noticeable black smoke at this speed.
As a side note, it was 44 C in the desert, and the van seemed to love it. I had the AC on the whole time, and even at 120, the temp gauge never went much above 1/3 from cold, and my fuel consumption didn't seem that high. I still got 597 km out of one tank of gas (filled to the neck, and run well into the reserve). I never calculated the actual milage - kms/miles/imperial gallons v us gallons - too much effort!.
On an even more unrelated side note - Driving down to vegas, I felt like a rockstar. So many people rubbernecking to see the van, and lots of conversations about it. The vast majority of americans below the border have never seen or heard of a delica before.

I can do 120 just under 3000 RPM. on my way up to PG i stayed a a constant speed of around 110km after the shitty part of the road around lilloet with around 2700 RPM.

my tires are slightly smaller than stock, so on the highway I do 120(ish) at about 3200rpm, I've had it up to almost 140, but didn't want the ticket so I didn't stay there long.
I'm comfortable up to about 3500rpm, anything over that I try not to let happen for too long. (though redline isn't until somewhere over 4000...)

146 kph. GPS proven. 3600 RPM. Really poor fuel economy!

I made it to 97km/h, that's my top speed and I stick to it. If I wanted to go faster I'd get back to my ZX11.

It comes down mostly to tire size, wear and style... and a few other things.
Funny thing is my RPM sometimes varies for the same GPS accurate speed under similar conditions, don't know why some day I get 200 rpm less for the same speed???
