Hi y'all! Just wanted to introduce ourselves. Like so many others, Sash and I lurked here for over a month while we plotted and planned to acquire our Delica... which we picked up today from the fine folk at Five Star. Just spent a pleasant afternoon driving her down to Vic (not every Deli we saw waved back, but then we were kinda slow on the draw ourselves... noobs!) and then going over her inch by inch... we love her! Now we're waiting to see what name she picks out... it's usually taken about a week with my other vehicles, so you'll know when we know!
She's a 92 SuperExceed with a crystal-lite roof, grey interior (very clean), and jade over grey exterior. Chrome bush bars with HUGE fog lamps. We wonder how legal they are! haha Stereo is hooped, but that seems par for the course with Delicas.
Here's some pics...
We'd like to thank everyone here for all the help you didn't know you were giving! Reading a hundred posts a day can sure firm up a persons ideas about what to buy, where to go, etc!
Things we're looking to add to our beauty as soon as we can... a) new stereo system b) skid plate and c) a Mitsu-maple sticker!
One last thing... when's the next VanIsle meet?

Sweet! It won't be long until we here in Victoria outnumber the domestic, "disposable" vehicles on the road. Welcome & I'll be looking out for you. (I second the "when's the next VanIsle meet?".)

I bought a JVC KD-DV6200 DVD MP3 player off of eBay for $160, great deal. Very nice to have 800 tunes on one DVD.Johnny&Ruby wrote:Things we're looking to add to our beauty as soon as we can... a) new stereo system b) skid plate and c) a Mitsu-maple sticker!

Welcome to the group, and well met. And yes, those are mighty big fog lamps!
Most of the radios don't work in these vehicles - on this continent anyway - because the frequency band is incorrect: Japan 76-90 Mhz while in most of the rest of the world it's 87.5-108 MHz. There are devices called frequency expanders which can make the radio pick up our stations, but sometimes it's just cheaper to buy a new radio.

I just bought a bulk order of band expanders from the UK . Makes the japanese radios work normally in NA . They should sell for about $22 each when they arrive . Cheap fix for some nice radios that normally get thrown out for a new unit .

Thanks y'all! Yeah, we thought about finding expanders but then we actually saw the unit and part of the faceplate is smashed and there's no way I'm trying to slide a cd into the spot that *looks* like it might take a cd... it's a little sketchy! And of course we want new speakers so... may as well go the rest of the way. But we're lovin it! Absolutely loving it! Took her for a wash today and everywhere I stopped people were asking about it. Neat!
