Delica 1993 Thinking of buying

Greetings from northern Finland,
Years ago I spotted one of these Delicas and now the opportunity has come my way.
It's 1993, flattop, bensine 2.5L, manual, 200,000Km's+, a very tiny amount of rust around the outer wheel wells.
My wife is trying her best to make me forget the entire thing.
Questions. Reliability? Durability? Are any parts exchangeable between the L300 or Pajero (which are locatable by the thousands here)?
I would appreciate any comments or ideas you all may have.
Best regards from the Arctic Circle,
Michael

Hi Michael and welcome to this forum.

Here in Canada we must wait 15yrs so 1993 is the youngest Delica we can purchase but unlike the one you're looking at most of the one we import have low mileage and no rust (or very very little). We also have very good support for parts and maintenance which makes life easy. With that in mind, these vehicles are extremely reliable. But if you don't have the technical and parts support then the question is how much do you love your wife? (I'd hate to see her telling you how right she was...) What I'm saying is that without the support it's a gamble. 200 000km is alright if it was properly maintained (it's a diesel right?) but common sense prevail...

Pajaros have some parts that exchange with the Delica but I'm not the expert on that, maybe someone else?

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the quick response.
It's gas and it costs a fortune here, but so does diesel.
My wife will tell me she told me so anyway, but she'll do it with a smile to further drive me to drink.
The car has been well cared for with the service book (or whatever you might call it in Canada) being complete from day one back in '93.
Here are a couple of shots of the beast.
I'll get with you all a bit later.
Thanks again for the help,
Michael

Looks pretty clean for 200 000km! And love the bushbars up front.

Good luck and let us know how it went (with your wife and with the Delica!) 8-)

I sure do like the dual sliding doors, we don't get those in Canada.
