newly acquired delica

Hello fellow
Delica drivers,
after entertaining the idea of JDM imports I finally purchased a delica.
It seemed a long wait for the boat from Japan Auto Direct but it was definitely worth the wait.
Soon I will post the pics of me and "Delly One".
Does anyone know where I can get a custom paint job for my newly acquired beast.

Welcome to the club! Since you don't mention where you live, it is hard to answer. You might want to change your profile to include your location. Your profile shows the vehicle as "pe8w", care to explain? Most Delicas are P35W or P25W.
Presumably any body shop can paint a Delica, but I wouldn't trust most places to do a decent job.

Most deli's I've seen have reasonable paint given their age. Many have 'delamination' on the roof - looks like whitish haze, often related to intense sun baking, but common on some vehicles which likely related to factory paint job being inadequate quality (late 1980's grand ams were famous for this). My own deli had this interesting roof....no point to paint the entire vehicle so I had the roof Rhino Lined from the gutter's up. Looks good, and now the roof is less susceptible to scrapes. It's also acted as a bit of a sound deadener - seems like that metal "flopping" sound from the roof is reduced. Lastly, I can mount my canoe directly to the roof with just foam footies and tie downs - works great, no rack required. Cost was $300 from Steve and North Shore Rhino Lining and they needed van for less than a day.
