one of my friend told me that bc delaer authority closed down jdm wholesale due to their unethical business practice such as taking money in advance to sell a delica that is not even making into canada for few months. lots of customer complaints.

there are extremely few importers who don't ask for cash before bringing in a vehicle... that's not "shady" that's par for the course...

Through my dealings with JDM I was quite impressed with their honesty and the way they stood behind their product... that said, they did seem rather disorganized, and there were many delays in the process. In the end I was extremely happy with them and was willing to recommend them to anyone. That was just over a year ago, I have had no dealings with them since, so I don't really know what might have transpired since that time.

I understand that the business is experiencing some problems. Edit: Original post deleted due to inaccuracies.

I don't know any dealers that will sell a vehicle not having it in stock. if there is, I would stay away from them. Most dealers (not talking about importers) like maximum overdrive, silk road auto, vib motors, abbotsford japan, sell theri stock vehicles only. they don't want your money if they have vehciles waiting in japan. i guess it is your choice who you wanna deal with. All the buyers needs to be well informed.

for the most part he is right, a few details are off as I was also asked to be part of the Solution for the customer that came from Florida and was Moving to south america, in the end the customer got a van he was happy with , Im not going to get into the details of what all went down, but it was a bad situation for both buyer and seller, and in the end it was sorted out.

Enviro,

I appreciate you not getting into the details as this has still not played out in full yet, I agree some of the details are correct, however my question is "where" did he gain this information

Secondly can you please explain the comment "in the end the customer got a van he was happy with" did you supply him with a van?

James

Hey James,
why won't you take this opportunity to present your side of the story?
This is a fairly tight knit community, and rumours spread like wild fire.
Even though I've never met you, I was already aware of "those JDM guys getting shut down" for quite a while.

It's very easy to loose potential customers' trust with a situation like this.
Remember, quite a few potential customers check this forum before deciding on a dealer.

I wouldn't have written anything, but since you decided to chime in to the thread, please take this opportunity to clarify what happened to everyone.
It can only help to squash the rumours in the future.

I don't know James, never met him but I figure if he didn't give any details he probably have his reasons. As he said, "this has still not played out in full yet".

We're all curious as to what's going on but I'm sure it's not a easy to be in his situation right now so gotta give him some room. If he wish to give us the full story I'm sure he will in good time... If anyone had bad experience with them by now we'd know for sure as well! Until then may be we could give the guy a little break? Just a thought...

Jester, as much as I would like to lay out my story at this point in time it is not prudent for me to do so.

Delicat, appreciate your comments, couldn't have said it better myself.

Thanks for the clarification. It's very interesting as it's quite different from what I had been told.

Cheers

Sorry to take too long to respond, I just got back to town. If the post contains any inaccurate info, as it apparently does, or anything that should be deleted, pls let me know and I'd be happy to edit it accordingly or just delete the whole thing if that's more appropriate.
