Looking to buy 2.8 TD Space Gear from neighbor

Hello all,

My neighbor has a 1996(+/- a year) Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear 2.8 Turbo Diesel, around 100k km, runs well, just needs an out of province inspection in Alberta as its owners are from BC. He wants around $4,000, is this a good buy? I'm 16 y/o and when I get my license I would like to buy it possibly. It sounds like a very fun and reliable van to mess around with my friends and go camping and around the wilderness.

Is there anything I should know about reliability, parts, etc? And does it sound like a good deal?

Also, how is cold starts? It gets to -40c time to time here in Alberta and I know it's a diesel.

Depending on what the out of province inspection turns up, the price is decent.

I’m from Manitoba and have a Delica Spacewagon L400.. I’m looking to get some parts and then a inspection..
Would you have any info for me.. on where to go and who to talk to..??
