hello guys!! me and my girlfriend are planning to do a roadtrip in central america trying to go down in panama. but i just found thats theres a ban on car with rhd in a couple of country in central america like costa rica and nicaragua. do you have any information on this ban ??

From what I know, the ban do apply on local plated cars. Many RHD Delica owners did road trips overthere including the notorious Dinoevo (http://dinoevo.de) There are South American Facebook Montero Groups, I know they have to convert their RHD to be able to register these ride ovethere, you can ask them if the ban apply to travellers too ? I was JUST informed of the RHD ban in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I was told no RHD vehicles are allowed at all. Not sure how accurate that is or not. Might want to check Expedition Portal or Overland Sphere for more accurate information.

for us, we will start our trip in july 2018 from quebec, going to alaska before late august and after where going to pick some grape in the okanagan, after we will going south before it gets to cold for sleeping in the van!! so maybe where heading mexico like in novembre 2018. and after it will be as far as we can!!! for sur we will try to go to panama and if its possible with her budget going further then that!!
