all engines have their pros and cons... Mine (4D56) is in top shape, with only 165000Klm on the clock...! why do I know? I do preventive maintenance and I'm driving it like a grand pa!!

Thanks. So i could go with a 2.8 and take care of it and it would last a long time.

Any thougts on the v6 engine? Is it as reliable?

Yes it is! They used that engine in plenty of different application or models. Even in the famous GTO twin turbo!

...though the 2.8 and V6 were never available in the Star Wagon (L300), only in the Space Gear (L400).
(For future reference, in case anyone was under the misapprehension that thread subject was related to the thread contents).
