Not sure how many are in Canada at this point, although I think the number may be around five or so? In any event, another is coming. I've just bought a 1997, number 581 of 2500 in Hiroshima. I should have it in a month or two. 140k kms, grade 4, silver, and I am so excited! I'll post up some pics when I get some good ones, but all I've got so far are a couple of crappy auction shots. Just wanted to share for now...

Theres only a few pics from the auction site. When do you get the inspection pics Phil?
And I hope I get a chance to drive it shortly after its arrival.
(This Mitsu gives you 'wings'!)

Oh don't worry. You are on the short list. ;) I'm hoping to have pics anytime now. It has to go from Hiroshima to Toshima-Ku so it has a long way to go before it even leaves Japan.

I got a pile of pics today, and so far its good news. Everything is looking as it should. A few small fixes but nothing major. Overall, build number 581 looks to have been a good choice!

Do you have a mechanic in mind for maintenance and repairs? Get ahead on that front. And always always put the highest octane fuel in this unit.

Thanks. I've done my research - not my first 6G series engine. And I've had a 4G63 Evo as well, so I'm well aware of the "price you pay for performance". Thankfully premium fuel is much less than it used to be, as long as that lasts... As far as mechanics, my feeling is if you are hiring a mechanic for maintenance and repairs, a JDM may not be your best option? ;) But to each his own.
I now have an ETA of Feb 17th to Van, so its possible I could be driving it by the end of the month? Getting excited now!

Thanks a lot! You've been the key to making this happen. Wouldn't trust this process to anyone else!

Mechanic???Why would you open your Evo's Hood to another tech when your own skills are good for nearly everything that would need TLC.
But I agree with Phil...JDM ownership comes with risk when finding a tech that won't deny you service. it's a shame really as most JDMs are not that different from their North American competitors.

Looks great! If I were to go with a third paj, that would be the one.

Have been enjoying this Paj immensely! The engine/trans is unlike any paj I've had before, and I've had most of the variants. So strange for an automatic transmission to bang through the shifts and take it to redline in every gear. It also downshifts when you crest a hill and let off the throttle.
So far, so good!
