Anyone else have the problem where if it is below -5, your drivers side window will go down but will not go back up? When it is really cold it will slip and sink lower. To get it back up I put my hand on the outside while flicking the toggle and I "help" push it back up. Anyone know why or have the same issue?

Mine did that once and when I opened the access panel I found that Mardy had put a pair of his underpants in there with a love letter attached and it was caught in the window regulator. Maybe the same issue for you?

This just happened to me today!

What I figured out is the rubber on either side of the window is so cold and
stiff the resistance causes the window to stop and go back down.

I was going to use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm it up but got bored and
helped it up.

Not electrical. The cold weather stiffens up the grease in the regulator gear box and rails so the system acts like something is stuck in the window frame which makes the window go down. Cool safety feature that only became standard equip on domestic cars very recently.

The only way to fix it is to get in there and clean the system. Have to do mine in spring cuz I have the same issue.

Go park your deli in a heated parkade. Let it sit and see if that helps.worked for me.

Big-Bird is right, this is a safety feature where the extra load on the motor will cause it to reverse. Rather frustrating for my wife last year at -35 and she rolled the window down while driving to throw out a bananna peel and couldn't get it back up .

I've had it happen on a regular basis below -10 to -15. Just earlier this week I sprayed my window slider tracks with silicone to see if this helps before resorting to tearing my doors apart, it may be an easier option now that winter is upon us.

This happened to me the other day to my passenger side window. When the window was going up it would stop then roll down again. As it was rolling up I grabbed the top of the window and helped it past the trouble spot. We have this stuff at work called Kleen Slip, a silicon spray, I'm gonna try that on the rubber sides the next time it happens.
