Hello Delicanadians!

I'm NEW here, and I have a request... actually questions too -lots of 'em. Sorry, it's the 'kid in a candy store' effect.

I've done all the reading my tired eyes can do, and boy, you ALL have done your homework! I've learned a GREAT deal through your posts, which brings me to my conclusion.

I WANT A DELICA!!!!!

Or to be more precise, I'm looking to buy a Delica for my family.

I'm wondering if anyone has had recent (i.e. last few months) experience with Terra 2 Importers? (Or other importers you might like to suggest) If you have, I'd love to hear from you. I'm trying to find out EXACTLY (and that means with costs attached) how much is covered under their "Total Landing Cost" REALLY. Or better said, What you may have found out was NOT covered!

And, since I'm asking, does anyone know about how much (apprx.) it could cost to bring the Delica to B.C. compliance? How many changes need to be made anywaty?

Finally, ugh, How soon can we start to order 1993 Delica's from Japan, and more precisely I guess, what month?

I have never dealt with Terra 2, but have heard good feedback plus they have a referral program. Of course being a importer, hope you don't mind the waiting. The vehicle has to be 15 years old, not one month less when it lands - but why is everybody so set on a 93. A 89 has; simpler, cheaper headlights, much less plastic body bits (front and back), and doesn't have the dirt trapping, rust concentrating bottom, side body trim - making it a better road tripping, gravel road ride. IMO, but hey I don't want a Super-duper Exceed just to use those nice chrome bars to push the bush out of the way. (That didn't come accross as a rant did it? )

I just cut and pasted this for you (need to stick it to the Wiki) -

Headlights, Must be replaced with a E code LHD housing on mid 90' and early. These are now available through more sources (and a bit cheaper).

All exterior light bulbs should be to changed, including the headlights of a 90', and older model. "The square's" are commonly available, considerably cheaper then the newer style.

Daytime running lights.

Side markers need to be added, the rear marker should lit with the running lights and the front just requires reflectors (correct me if I'm wrong someone). The myself included have rewired the side indicators to work as running lights.

Tires must have a load rating or a DOT stamp, and of course be in good enough shape to pass the inspection.

A high mount rear brake light, there is plenty of options of where to get these from. 1991 and newer models may have one already.

A front end alignment should be done to any JDM RHD fresh off the boat.

Must be mechanical sound and safe to pass inspection, and any repairs that requires.

You should be able to do all that for under $500, and the last post I saw for compliance was just $580.

Feels like I'm missing something, but then I may be thinking of all those necessary Deli tune-ups (maybe) required; torsion bar winding, stereo replacement, front sway arm bushings, EGR valve cleaning, all those 15 year old fluilds and filters, all six belts changed, wheel bearing greasing (hey-they sit, they dry up).............

hey hey now, my super duper delica is not super duper from having crome bull bars. its the Full stainless exhaust from turbo to tip, lSD rear diff, Custom trans, new head, new injection pump, lift. and as bad ass as a delica can be lol. the 140km/3000rpm....

There is lots of things you will need to do to your new prize, after compliance, i STRONGLY recomend getting the OIL changed and ALL the coolant changed, dont just drain and fill it like tends to happen, go get it power/heat flushed. engine and trans mounts will be probably on your list for within the first month, that will get most of the squeeking out of the van that you will find as your getting to know it. Oh and if you decide to install the new stereo your self, then dont put an amp down on the the dash piece sitting in the back of the van, it tends to break off the screws that hold the coin/ashtray holder.....yuppers, my bad lol

take a look up under your back bumper for rust. water tends to sit there and collect. then bad things happen....
