Success with a corroded plug
just had some moderate success fixing a corroded signal light socket! I poked the bulb out of curiosity and broke the connection that was hanging in there. So in order to fix it I stuck some scotchbrite into a cotter pin, put that in my drill and stuffed it in the socket to clean out the corrosion. that on its own did not fix the problem, there was still a poor connection between the bulb and the socket. So to take up the space I put vaseline on the base of the bulb and a little bit on the pin as well, and presto! the bulb worked again!
