anyone using a hatchback mounted bicycle carrier?

Hi all,

Is anyone using a conventional hatchback mounted bicycle carrier on their Delica? If so, which model? One issue I can see is the length of the straps.

I'm not going to be getting around to installing anything permanent in the short term so am thinking about a strap mounted carrier. I don't often carry my bike, but occasionally my wife picks me up from work or we meet somewhere (Note a now common theme wife=delica and me= bicycle) and putting the bike inside the van is a pain in the ass - messy and pointy.

Yep, I use this one from the co-op:

It works ok. I make sure to check the attachments often. I've used it all summer, often with 3 big bikes on it, and no accidents yet. I hope to install a tow hitch and put on a rack that way as a full time solution. I move bikes often in the summer so I'd like to get something beefier so I can move four bikes easily. Meanwhile this has worked well and is pretty sturdy and about half the price of a crappy tire special.

Paulchen makes excellent (and expensive) hatch mount bicycle carriers for the VW Vanagon that should work on a Delica. I've also heard good things about the racks available from Fiamma but haven;t seen one in person.

for once you get the hitch mounted look at these, in the future models section there is a 6 bike model.
