Im heading down to california, planning on doing a pretty much non stop drive.
Should i carry extra filters with me, any other extra parts i should have on hand?
Are border crossings easy in a delica?
Any suggestions would help
Thanks

Have a spare oil filter if you can & check all the brakes if everything is good have good tire also, also check if you change fuel filter & air filter this will help to avoid problem in the road. i dont think you will have rpoblem , just concentrate driving cause the freeway in US is good & tey runs very fast.
Cheer,
Mardy

depending on how much driving you're doing while you're there you won't need an oil filter, i believe its 4800kms there and back ish... that was for me to go to palm springs. changed oil before and after... Watch your temp, speed late at night (but not through oregon) and enjoy all the wonderful characters you will meet at gas stations and such on the way... Maybe it was because we had 6 people in my van, but we ended up meeting crazy people and having some good stories to tell.

and go to in n out burger. for the love of god.

3 things i carry and always have in ALL my vehicles, spare Thermostat, ITs very small, Spare Fuel filter, you never know when one will clog up and they wont had Delica parts unless you have a conversion part number. and a spare oil filter . these three little things take up Very little room and can save you ALOT of problems. but in the end its up to you.

If you haven't dropped your spare yet check it out , mine was 1 1/2" bigger than the rest of my tires.

The border is a non-issue in a Delica. They make take an interest in you, but that's another matter.

Americans aren't as used to RHD vehicles as us Canadians are, so be prepared for lots of "who's driving that thing?!" gawking. Be prepared for admirers in parking lots.

Diesel is more expensive than premium gasoline in the U.S.

Above all, have fun!

You might also take along some extra fan belts and a tools to loosen up the pulleys. I also carry hand cleaner and paper towels. Oh, jumper cables are a good idea as well.

A few blankets might be a good idea as well. I found it helps with the fights over how hot or cold it should be.

I just drove another 89 from Wisconsin back to Detroit and I did get a lot of looks :-D
