Hi Everyone

I am a new member from Bowen Island (thus my creative name) and I have a 91 Exceed that i am very happy with. I have just started making my own bio-diesel and I wonder if there is anyone out there doing the same. Also does the 91 Exceed have the rubber fuel lines?

Welcome!

There are some making their own biodiesel on this board, not me though. It has rubber that needs to be changed out with something compatible with methyl esters, both the fuel pump and lines should be done although a lot of people just do the lines. Make sure you don't have water in your fuel too - that can destroy an engine in a hurry.

And welcome too. It's interesting to note how many BCers on islands are buying these things. As if we weren't different enough from the rest of the country living on the continent, but we've got to drive something totally different from everyone else! Have all the other six people on the island asked you questions about your new ride? :o

Every time I head into town I see Delicas. On the North Shore, in Vancouver and in the ferry terminal. There must be a few up the sunshine coast as well. I see you in the Langdale line up. Are there any delica mechanics on the north shore? (Once I figure out how to do it i will add a photo.of the machine)

Welcome bowisle - I've only needed a couple of minor things done since vehicle came to Canada - but found post here for RJD Services in North Van. Owner is Richard (a Brit), and co-worker is Nathan (Aussie) - both are familiar with Deli's. They struggled with parts referencing etc in the past - but Richard mentioned to me on my last visit that he's got most of the major "consumeables" covered now and figured out what to get and where. Their number is 604-986-8586. It's a very small shop and you best call for directions since it's a little hard to find (well, the first time anyway) - Richard owns the building, but has downsized his own business from the day of having a big shop near Lonsdale....I think he spends more of his time hiking / biking and other outdoor pursuits, future man of leisure. Anyway - so far they've done good work, fast, and reasonable price, and not afraid of Deli's at all.

If it's diesel related (ie, pumps / injectors & timing / etc) maybe best to go with Japanoid since they have diesel mechanic on staff and are working on deli's constantly. But anything else - brakes, fluids, belts, waterpump, cooling system, etc etc - RJD has it covered.
