30 year rule in Oz...

				I'm Down-Under in Adelaide and met an Aussie fella a couple of days ago who has a real thing for left-hand drive American trucks. He told me that unless they are 30 years old or more they cannot be registered in Australia unless they are converted to right-hand drive. He also told me that people have purchased imported cars and restored them only to find that they were imported under a 'parts vehicle permit and can NEVER be registered and driven here  Funny thing, the next day I saw the only left-hand drive I've seen here motor by - A huge late 50's / early 60's Caddy... Lucky for our Aussie com padres  delicas are right-hand drive or they'd be in worse shape than the Americans for getting into one...
