Pardon my language, but bullsh!t. My wife and I have been around enough people in enough situations to know that *not* everyone would have done that.
Plenty of folks would've sat on their collective asses and waited for someone else to show up and actually do something.
Modesty is obviously another virtue!

You're the man! I loved the fast thinking and the fact that it was captured on tape. As it was said most would just sit on the curb and watch, waiting for services to arrive.
I Hope the family can also move on and start rebuilding, loss due to fire is quite a life experience.
