I believe this varies if you have an oil or water cooled turbo. Mine is oil cooled and I have my turbo timer set for 2 minutes. I think at least 1 min is usually recommended but mine was pre-set for 2 and I haven't bothered to change it. It also depends on how much load you're putting on the engine in the last few block before you arrive at your destination.

ya two minutes is plenty good mine was set for 1 min when i had it installed the turbo timer i mean, it depends on driving and what distance, hills, speed, oil pressure, egt temp but if you dont have such gadgets at the very least 45 seconds should do after a good rally about.
cheers

It depends how fast the turbo was spinning prior to stopping, usually i am going slowly prior to parking anyway, so it shouldnt take long for the turbo to spin down to minimum speed. If you stop suddenly after driving under boost, it needs a longer wait to ensure its not still spinning fast when the oil supply is cut off.

				Hi Yvanoe,
Install an EGT gauge (Pyrometer). Low to Medium difficulty job depending on your skill and set of tools.
Blank the EGR here:
http://www.delica.ca/forum/how-to-fit-a ... e-304.html
Get your plates here:
http://oddballoffroad.com/
or here:
http://www.enviroimports.com/
or somewhere else, or make them yourself like Felix:
http://dinoevo.de/2010/04/egr-removed/
and I ended up choosing an Auberins gauge, but there are many others out there:

Then you'll know how long to cool down.
Cheers,
Tojo

Great advise Tojo. Time doesn't matter - temperature does. I've had to wait way more than 2 minutes if you climb to the top of a grade then decide to stop. Other times in residential areas it's already to shut down when you stop. 400 to 500 F is when I shut down.
