I am planning to do an OEM Mitsubishi aka 'green top' glowplug group buy from my supplier in Japan for the Delica/Pajero 2.5 4D56T engine.

If I get enough, I will be able to get four (4 pcs) for around $80-90 CDN ($20-25 per glow plug).

I am only doing this for individual folk like I did on the other forums in the past.

These are genuine Mitusbishi 6.2V 'fast start' version supplied from Mitsubishi and NOT aftermarket, Hyundai, Chinese or NGK/copies.

OEM part number # MD092392

Their lifespan is very long compared to aftermarket glow plugs be it 6.5 or 11V considering we get 15 year old greentops that are still working.

For reference, you see people have all kinds of issues with both 6.4 and 11V (more so on 11V) due to using aftermarket glow plugs hence this group buy.

There are people who order the OEM green tops from UK, Japan, Australia, US but end up paying around $100 per glow plug.

This group buy lowers that cost considerably.

Once I have a set price for plugs/shipping to my place from Japan, I will post it here and notify each person on the list of the total. If the people are in, I'll request funds from each and send the full payment to Japan and wait until they arrive. I will ship them anywhere in Canada. Canuck shipping will just be a few bucks.

I am not making a dime off this deal. A fellow Pajero owner let me in on the same group buys years ago and I wanted to do the same.

The invoice will be posted here for everyone to see the good deal to be had (crossing my fingers).

So who is the manufacturer of these plugs? I know for the l400, the factory Mitsubishi glow plugs are made by NGK exclusively for Mitsubishi. I would think the same would be true for the other glow plugs sold by Mitsubishi, made by one of the major companies for Mitsubishi. The Japanese auto makers are famous for reverse engineering, finding the best product and using it for their application rather than trying to reinvent something and build it themselves. I don't know if this is true of the 6V glow plugs, but it would stand to reason. Any idea who makes them?

This is a group buy for genuine Mitsubishi green top glow plugs that are installed from the factory on all 2.5L Delica's prior to 1993.

The manufacturer of these plugs is Mitsubishi.

Speculation as to which glow plug company actually makes them is unknown, however these are the longest lasting and most reliable glow plug made for Mitsubishi for the 2.5L 4D56.

Prices vary widely usually starting at 70-80/per plug.

A group buy lowers that cost per each considerably.

As you don't want this to be a discussion thread, it might be best to lock it and then have people PM their orders to you. I don't know if you can do that, though.

L400 (4M40) are different. I'll look into it and get back to you or make another thread for those (slim possibility),

So sorry. please forgive my ignorance, I was not looking for discussion. I thought I was asking a simple question, expecting a simple answer. I often do this before making purchases. I guess I'm out. I will continue to convert the older ones to the more reliable 12V system
