I live in E. Vancouver and was wondering a few of the regular things like, #1 Where do I find one. #2 who does trustworthy and skilled maintenance. #3 which is the model for off road and snow touring ?

Alex,
The best way to have your questions answered is do do some searching on this site. There is loads of invaluable information from experienced Delica owners.
Lots of Delicas are available around Vancouver. Just do a search at buysell.ca and you'll see multiple listings from various wholesalers and private individuals. Some owners have chosen to buy their vehicle direct from Japan and have arranged their own shipping and inspection. Some put a deposit down while the wholesaler searches for the vehicle to match the buyers criteria. Whoever you buy from will recommend a skilled maintenance shop--there are many around Vancouver.
All Delica models are suitable for driving off pavement thanks to 4x4 and stock high clearance. Good luck browsing the forum and finding your ride.

thanks mattias, I appreciate the helping hand. I drive a 2001 Toyota Tacoma I've had toyota 4x4 pickups all my life; they've been really good for me. Now with a new family member it no longer fits the bill.

I Drove a 2003 tacoma before the delica, I find it has more grunt in low 4, but doesn't like being slapped around as much because its heavier. I do need new shocks though so i'm sure that has a lot to do with it. Theres also not as much to put your foot into with a 4cyl diesel. It will get you there, but I wouldn't use the word peppy.

I spent 15 years of my life wheeling so my opinion is a bit biased. I dont think the Delica is much of hard core 4x4. It will work for light off-road but the rear driveshaft is so short you are not going to be able to get much articulation, the front torsion bar/a-arm set up is short as well, not much wheel travel, and the fuel tank is pretty much the lowest point of the truck.
That being said, if you throw enough money and time at it, anything is possible, but stuff that my Jeep or Unimog would walk over in 2wd, the delica wouldn't even stand a hope of getting onto without crushing something.
Think of it more like a Honda CRV or Rav 4. Just cooler and more room.
As for finding one, look on Craigslist or the buy and sell for starters as well as the forum buy and sell.
Who does maintenance- Can't say, I do my own work.

Freakin rights ! Thanks for the info, and speedy response. I think for sure this saturday I'll be test driving, pretty stoked. If anyone else other options for servicing I'm all about it. I hope the Deli will perform a little better than vw westi, not to dis westies at all.
Anyone want a Tacoma 2001 black, 90,000, two door king cab good condition, barely been up the mountain.

I think the market value is probably in the 17500 to 18500 for low Kms. Also depending on condition.
