Heater flow valve

Hi All, So my AC is working but the heater is not turning off. I ran the AC first thing this morning and it was nice and cold until the engine warmed up. So I put one of my Vicegrip hose clamps on one of the coolant lines going though the firewall and the AC went cold again. I could not find the valve that should shut off the flow to the heater core under the hood. Does anyone know where this valve is located?
cheers

open the glove box
on each side holding the folding glove box in are two flexible latches - undo both and the box lower allowing you access in behind
with a flashlight, look up and to the right (centre console) about 4 inches and you will see the push/pull cable with a o-clamp connected to the manual valve.

jfarsang is right. Is your L400 a super exceed one where the climate control is electronic? If it is... then there is an actuator that's causing the problem. It's most likely burnt out and not closing the flap as required by your temperature setting. It is located on the center console below the radio and ash tray...it's a bit tricky to take the panels off.
Good luck.

Yes, it is a Super Exceed. I am going to have a look at the actuator now.
