Hi forumers,

As you can see, the roof of my L400 (which is have only had for a little over a year) is fast experiencing fading/blotching/spotting. I am unsure if this is the result of pollution, sunshine or rain. But I have not seen this problem on other L400s.

Does anybody here have ideas of what might be going on, and how I might remedy this?

Are there any signs of rust or is this just the clear coat?

You might wanna check out the inside as well.
This is from an l300, but who knows maybe l400 roofs with CL have the same rust problem: http://www.delica.ca/forum/removal-of-i ... 10537.html

Clear coat and it is quite common on L400's . Most that come over have it buffed out and recoated. Not a rust issue like the L300's.

It will cost you anywhere from around 400-1,200 to get it redone at a body shop.

or a few hours of sanding, brush, and tremclad will cost you $50.00.

Thanks all for your advice on this. It looks like I have my work cut out for me.

At least it's not a rust issue. But I suppose it is a money and/or time issue.

What I don't get is why other L400s of the same vintage aren't effected. Or, as JFarsang implied, do some of these vehicles get recoated before they come to Canada?
