I have a rotted one as well but opted to leave it off for better clearance. I fell through it the first time i tried to get in the sliding door.

Could be repaired by replacing all struts with new. But I think it would cost more than a replacement as I don't have the welding and fabrication tools and materials.

Thanks all. CCA has one for a reasonable price. I think I'll go w it. (perhaps I can find something creative to do with the old step deck.)

Mount it on a piece of painted plywood; title it: "Stepping Off With The Other Foot" (engraved in brass); then sell it to the VAG for an extortionate amount of money. Then you can take your friends to see it.
