Hey all. New here, should have my ride soon. Will ask alot of questions but won't answer to many as I don't know much!

My Delica will mainly be used as a road trip van for mountain biking and will have alot of dirty bikes and riders inside. I was thinking of removing the uhpolstry(sp??) and putting down some sort of coating. I'm not sure what I could use but it would be nice to be able to just sweep the floor out and be done.....As well as not feeling bad about wrecking my carpet inside because there won't be any behind the front seats.

Anybody have any ideas? I was thining Rhino lining type stuff but I'd like it to be smoother.

I'm planning to use that laminate flooring that clicks together, I was hoping to use cork if I find some cheap enough. It is really tough and easy to sweep and keep clean.

I've got the cheap Ikea stuff in my kitchen and it has been trouble free. As long as you don't let water pool and sit for a long time on it you shouldn't have to worry about swelling. I was worried the the area around the sink/dishwasher would be an issue, but nothing so far.

I don't know if they still make the stuff, or how expensive it would be, but there's this paint-like stuff called PLASTI DIP and it's a smooth rubbery coating that can be used for re-making tool handles and whatnot, but can also be painted onto surfaces. It has pretty much all the nastiest solvents in it, so it may well have been discontinued, but it might be worth checking into if they still make it.

Hmmm... Need a big tub to dip the back end of the Delica into it wouldn't it?

Thanks for the ideas guys, the plastic dip stuff looks interesting. After doing some homework I think I've settled on one of those thick rubber mats cut to fit into the back of trucks usually. Apearantly most chemicals I would line the bed with will be stinky for a long time and I like the idea of being able to remove the mat and have uhpolstry underneath if I gots a hot date and need it to be softer on the skin.

I wanted to put something inside that wasn't carpet also. I found a GMC truck rubber bed liner worked pretty well. I bought it from Lordco for $70. It was a lot of work to get it to fit right.

1. Remove all the seats.
2. Remove all the carpet.
3. Lay carpet on the bedliner and trace out the shape.
4. Then spend about 2 hours cutting out the shape. I used a knife but thinking about afterward I am wondering if a dremel would have worked.
5. Put seats back in. I left out the back row.

Here is the final result...it is a little dirty, but at least now I can clean it! If you are going to do this and you buy the bed liner new I would unroll and leave it outside for a few days. I didn't do this and was pretty much stoned from the fumes for the past couple of days. The rubber smell has faded quite a bit after a couple of days.

Also because this thing is designed for a truck bed there are wheel well cut outs in the rubber mat so I had to do one little patch behind the drivers seat. That is, you can't cut it in one piece because it too narrow where the truck wheel cut out are.
