Auto Glym Vinyl & Rubber Care, you can get it at Canadian Tire for around $15. It restores the oils into the vinyl/plastic. Depending on how faded or blued the eaves are you may require two or three applications.

When you use a heat gun it draws the oil from deeper in the plastic closer to the surface, which makes it look darker. The drawback to this is the oil at the surface tends to evaporate, which is why it goes faded. The more oils leaving the vinyl, the more likely it will crack over time.

Perfect, I'd heard that about the heat gun trick, I was researching which products to use on it, I'll grab some at Canadian tire for sure.

Decided to do something productive today! -30 Celsius = winter front for the Delica.
Have some left over puckboard and zip ties... Needed decals too...

And for those that will ask. No one steals pink extension cords :)

As for stealing cords I think it's mainly guys who steal them. And those cool thieves wouldn't be caught dead in pink. Not tough enuf!

I worked on a big construction project and the parent Co. we worked for was from Texas. We were all surprised when the good 'ol boys had us buy pink X-chords. Same reason.

Today I made a set of Door Cosies. THey are like a tea cozy but made of faux sheepskin (to go with the ShauntheSheep motif) and attache to the front doors to keep the chill off.

Now I need to experience some sub-zero temps again to see if they actually do any good. But they are kinda cute.

Pink extension cords? You could call them fuchsia! I had a fuchsia racing bike, a Mercier. fuchsia was the Mercia racing color. No one wanted to steal it.

I actually did this 2 days ago...

My front right calliper seized less than a year after doing the dual piston upgrade. Turns out, one of the 2 pistons was stuck, and luckily, the right side I had done by a shop, because the right one I had ordered from Rockauto was defective (wrong thread). Paying double for it at the time sucked, but being able to take it back and have it replaced within a couple hours and warrantied was very nice.

The replacement for the center console finally arrived and was installed at future shop. Who agreed to pay half for shattering the (already cracked) original. Soon as the snow goes it's time for a spring clean up after a long Alberta winter. I already noticed a touch of rust on the front chrome bullbar. any tips out there?

I put a 110 amp alternator in my 92 L300.

My alternator went a few weeks ago. Since I have a regular exceed that had been winterized (dual batteries, oil pan heater, block heater, trickle charger) but still had the original 75 amp alternator I was torn between getting mine rebuilt or getting a bigger one. I took my broken one to a place here in Grande Prairie to see if it could be rebuilt and they said they couldn't. I priced out some new, used, and rebuilt ones out of Vancouver. I found a 110 amp one of korean make for a reasonable price but I was nervous to do a straight swap as I found a topic either here or on the UK forum saying that I would need to install higher gauge wire and I am no electrician. But I did it any way! I put it in last weekend and have been driving all week, no fires, batteries are still good, I think I am in the clear.

P.S. I am due for an oil change soon and was contemplating doing it with the alternator out, but it was too cold out. Now I have no idea how that filter is going to squeeze out of there.

I get at the oil filter from under and behind, where the exhaust manifold connects to the pipe. Once I've drained the pan I reach up from there and unscrew the filter. It really helps if you have two wrists in each arm , like Edwin at CVI does (that guy is amazing, he has all these extra joints in his body ~ he just... crawls into and becomes part of the vehicle and fixes everything because he's... just amazing). Not to worry, for basic mortals like you and I ~ it can be done with only one wrist. It helps if you have those sabre toothed pliers for undoing the filter.
