my 91 deli replaced my old 92 nissan pathfinder.
the nissan was a great truck and all, but i decided my pathfinder wasnt enuf when i discovered that i couldnt stretch out in the back and sleep.
the pathy was a great truck, but the deli is much better. :-)

now i can 4x4 into wherever i need to go to fish, and i can camp at my leisure! :-D
only issue is that i think it'll be a pain to get a small boat on my roof rack! (my deli is lifted).

the stares i get from pedestrians is worth it.

LOVE Impalator's 69 Cortina! 8-) Always had a soft spot for them.
That's a beautiful short-bed Chevy, shame you have to sell it!
Well... Don't HAVE to sell it but it doesn't get driven much these days as my Delica is the daily driver (can't stop driving it) and the wife is always driving her Equinox. It is taking up valuable space in the garage. It will be hard to let go of it when the time comes but I am excited about the "Delica of the Boat World" project. Here's a pic, finally...

1988 19-foot Questar Pilothouse - still in business as the Washington Marine Group. The boat is of great interest because it has a military rated hull with "wakeless" design. Was designed and built for the purposes of law enforcement and search/rescue/recovery. Super stable, super strong - much like Delicas - and possesses an inner beauty - much like Delicas. Might have to name them the Odd Couple once it's restored... :-D
Interesting thread BTW!
Cheers!

I currently have an L400. Through the two months that I've owned it I absolutely love the thing. I look forward to more adventures snowboarding, taking the family out camping etc.

It replaced a Volvo 850 T-5 Wagon, nice car but too tight for the family and sooner or later I was bound to have a run in with officers of the law. I have a habit of driving vehicles for their intended purpose.

Previous to that was a 2007 BMW 1200 GS Adventure. I migrated here from http://www.advrider.com. I put just over 50000 km's on it and i'm an ontario rider so I saw pretty much all conditions including a few light snowfalls. The bike was big, yet capable but in the end I was sick of straight roads, flat land and traffic that is found around Southern Ontario.

Last but not least was my first vehicle, a 2002 CBR 600 F4I. I truly miss this bike but feel that it is too selfish to have a family and own one of these things. I rode it more than double what signs would recommend almost every time I got on it and for the whole ride. I just can't help myself, life is short so I always enjoyed that bike. When I lived in toronto I used to go to bed after work, wake up at 11:00 meet up with a buddy and scream around the dvp, bayview and many other twisty little places we could find until 4 in the morning. Ah to be young and full of balls. I never saw anyone ride a sportbike properly as a youth so seeing kids, young dudes etc. was just an excuse to make people smile... yeah yeah, i'm the idiot (always wore full suit) on one wheel riding down the highway beside banana buses doing 150+.

Maybe i'll have to dig around for a few pictures of the GS doing mono's with as it's not common to see a bmw being ridden as it should be...

Jensen wrote: My other other other car is a beat up Silvia S12 (not 13, 12 the really oldschool rare one nobody talks about) It's the CA18ET (single overhead cam turbo) engine one, 1988 the last year it was made with full independent suspension (not the most popular one for drifting, solid rear like in the AE86 is more popular). It was going to be made into a racecar at about the same time as I was starting the engine swap. It now sits quietly in storage...

This one is not mine, this was how it was SUPPOSED to end up!

Hah! I have the same engine, but in this:

Sub 900kg plastic thing (Reliant Scimitar SS1 1.8Ti) also with full independent suspension and putting out about 10hp from the CA18ET in standard form due to a better standard exhaust. It does like to surprise people, MX-5 drivers I have noticed get particularly irate.

My L400 replaced my 2005 Mazda 3.

I have no other motor vehicle.

I have a 1978 San Juan 24' sail boat and an 18' A Class catamaran.

Ok, I feel I have been a bit unfair, having posted this & not adding the list of my own cars.
1st: 1982 Plymouth Gran Fury with a 225 (3.7l) Slant 6 It gave up in Ohio & was hauled off on a trailer.
2nd: 1978(?) Ford Granada, with a 250 Straight 6. I paid a dollar for it after digging it out of a snow pile, ran like a top, but I foolishly took it to the junkyard to get back my first car.
3rd: 1988 Dodge Caravan, 3.0l V6, found free on CL, put about US$2000 into the engine & other repairs, gave it to someone at our church.
4th: 1989 Plymouth Gran Fury ex-Police car, 318 (5.2l) V8, my first V8. Found on CL, paid US$1000. Traded it in for partial on the next car.
5th: 1978 Mercedes 300CD with 3.0l Inline 5 Diesel, my first & best Diesel. Got me through the winter, & started every time after I replaced the battery. That car was dead reliable, & I kept it until it began blowing fuses on me (Again, it was foolish of me to get rid of this rare car!)
6th: 1979 Cadillac Eldorado http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o89fQMRIgEo (this one's not mine, but similar)
7th & current: 1991 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo with 3.8l V6 Buick engine, a pretty reliable car, but I've had some minor electrical/electronic issues with it.

I started out with a 1974 Datsun Pickup with Mags & big wheels on the back, jacked up (hotrod style).
Went to a '76 Honda Civic CVCC
'69 Lincoln Continental
'67 International Scout
Then gave up cars for the past 23 years (Just p/u '91 Deli Exceed in Oct). During that time and to the present I was on 2 wheels. 15 pairs of them to be exact.
So if anyone wants to talk bikes, I'll let loose.

One of the many: '76 KZ650 at Seattle Int'l. Raceway.

My toronado needs a paint job, & some electrics need sorting. It keeps telling me I have an "electrical problem", that the parking brake is on (when it's not), that the oil level is low (when, in fact, is a tad over-full :o ) & that the brake fluid level is low (Haven't checked... :? )

I had a 2002 Honda Civic which was modified to make fun of overly modified civics (not to be taken seriously). Now I have a 1992 Delica Super Exceed which is my daily driver and which I am in the process of modifying to make it unique, good offroad and camperized enough for a year long trip around North America.
Definitely not a useful topic but very interesting nonetheless
