Winter blend washer fluid runs from 35% to 40%, so yes you can add half of that then the rest strait water. Other than that your set up is good to go.

Oh yes, altitude also plays a huge role in the gains, most of ours are done at sea level.
Would ambient temp. make much of a difference on effectiveness of the W/A injection? Were your dyno results encountered where the air temp. heading into the engine was much higher than, say, the probably 2c-8c temps of the testing occurring here?

Yes that can have a effect in intake air temps but is a very small factor once it's compressed by the turbo, and especially in the combustion chamber it's almost a non factor when it comes to EGT's the drop will be very little. Also the extra fuel which is the alcohol plays in the power increase and ability to have a more complete burn of the diesel.

No, still waiting for the larger nozzles to arrive and to try them out.

Has the package come in yet?

YES!

Just got it 2 days ago, thanks so much!

I replaced my intake nozzle and with regular driving I still couldn't tell the difference. I'm using blue (-30 celcius) windshield washer but I'll try with mix water/meth once I run this tank empty.

I'll be trying it more today, going up a long hill with and without the system and I'll be better able to report if the system works or not. Again, I'll be looking for EGT, final speed and RPM and time taken to make it to the top of the hill.

I just fully serviced my truck yesterday (new filters, valve, timing, cleaned injectors...) so the van runs great and if there's no result to show it won't be because of the van...

See ya tonight for results!

You should also set it to come on at about 6 to 7psi. having a led light makes it easy so you can see if the system is actually on when it should be.

We've installed a toggle switch to turn system on/off and it seems to be working 'cause the fluid level goes down. Tried my long hill again today with the same results with or without the system activated so seems like either your system doesn't work as advertised or we didn't installed it properly? Anyway, for now it's disappointing. Good customer service though...

I can't see why you would not be getting any results we have many 4d56 customers who are making up to 17 hp over stock. The systems work as advertised that's just a matter of basic physics. Is the intake pipe cold to the touch were you have it installed after the testing? It should be ice cold with a 2gph nozzle in there. Also what boost are you holding at full throttle? If your adding fuel to a diesel it will make more power if your burning all the existing fuel at 100% it will make more power so there has got to be a problem some were.

How about you other guys that installed your systems, I know at least 6 kits went up there hows your results.

Hi Guamdoc,

Late reply but I've tested my system again today and it's still not where it should be. I made sure my lines were purged, dialed the switch way down to 3-4 psi and took it for a drive with the hood up. Once on the hwy running at 10 psi I touched the intake and it was hot. I turned on the water/meth system and the manifold stayed hot, didn't cool at all, even after 5 min of driving with the system on. (running 40% meth 60% water)

After the ride I made sure there was flow and purged my lines again but they were fine, lots of liquid passing the check valve. What gives? I have one 1gph nozzle just before the turbo and one 2gph nozzle between the turbo and the intake manifold (where the EGR used to be before I blocked it off.

And the system seems to be going through the liquid as my tank empties... I'm heading out for a road trip across the mountain this Monday, would be nice to have it working!

Ideas?

Ya, I didn't bother using it as it's not working properly. Don't know why and haven't taken the time to look further into it. I need to remove the nozzle from the intake, block the intake tap and drive under boost to see if the nozzle sprays properly 'cause right now the intake doesn't cool down at all.

I sure could use a working system though...

Have there been any new developments?
I just read through the whole discussion on this toppic and the results seem inconclusive at this point. A bit of a cliff hanger.
My Delica's will be in my posession next week and I'm already thinking of modifications.

A lot more HP productive modifications you can do that have already been done and tested than the al/o2 injection.

ex.

K&N air filter
2.5" exhaust
intercooler
up the boost & play with timing
swap the auto trans for a man's 5 spd :-D
