I do try to use it to its maximum capacity, but don't always have my camera to hand!

Some of the lovely places it's taken me to have ended up with AMAZING scenery shots, but no Deli in the pictures......or 'mundane' events that I wouldn't carry a camera for, yet would really highlight the versatility the Deli!

The shots above simply represent some of the things I do with it.....

I think we all know though how useful these motors really are....one of lifes hidden treasures! 8) 8)

Those shot inspire to me again the Idea of a Delica meet!!! who's in? Maybe like a weekend 4x4 convoy somewhere? I have a great route thru lower mainland to chilcoutin and back.. all dirt road, hot springs, big climbs, 3 different tempret zones, melow 4x4 but "out there" must pack fuel, food etc.. 3days? summer..

Mitch, that sounds like a blast. Or you could all truck up to smithers, we are so close to the yukon and alaska... true delica country. (of course that would be quite the trek for most of you).

Just saw your collection of photos on this thread - awesome! I agree, these are wonderful vehicles and we enjoy the Moon Machine every time we get into it. Now that we've got a tow hitch fitted, we're ready for our trailer again and camping adventures (sorry ADVENTURES) with four children.

Especially loved the 'poser pic'. Real Zoolander-like, how about a pose-off?

I do have to ask... you show the bed setup in the Delica (presumably on top of the folded flat seats) with your heads towards the front of the vehicle... I can't do that in mine, as the forward end of the bed ends up noticeably lower than the rear of the bed (and I can't sleep with my head below my feet), do you have something else under the mattress to level it? or is there something else weird going on here...

Oh and one more thing.... in your sign-off photo with the mounted bobby (doesn't that just have all sorts of sexual connotations?), that's either a really big horse or one gets a sense of how small these 'trucks' really are.

I was on the ferry the other day, on the over-height deck, and hand-to-heart the Moon Machine was the smallest 'over-height' vehicle on that deck, especially next to the passenger trucks like the GM 3500 pickup with tandem axle. Sure, the tractor/trailer units are large (well they are over here in North America), but come on! A Delica?!?

considering how tall horses are, and how it doesn't even come up to the roof of that Delica... that Delica is EXTREMELY Tall!

I recently parked in "overheight" parking at our local airport, I was the tallest vehicle in the lot, taller than any domestic pickup truck.
(even the 3500 4x4s)

Delicas are small vehicles in width and length (Smaller in both dimensions than my buddy's honda civic (that was a bit of a shock!)), but I don't know of ANY stock passenger vehicle that is taller.

Admit it, you city folk (Vic, Van, Cowtown...) love to park in those 'small car only' spaces too. You tucked in further then the Honda Civics beside you, but stand out like Shaq in an elementary playground.

Yes, I too was shocked to discover that the new big van I drive is actually shorter than the tiny Colt I used to drive, so I have absolutely no problem parking in those small car only spots, being smaller than a compact car and with many mirrors to help tuck in safely.

Talking about how 'small' these vehicles actually are, I was riding on the ferry from Vancouver Island to the Mainland last week. Of course on the 'oversize' deck because of the over-7-foot height, I was a little irked to see that the Moon Machine was by far the smallest vehicle on the 'oversize' deck.

I guess that's another thing to give up driving one of these vehicles - and parkades, and drive-thru windows.

I haven't done it et but I'm sure I will at some point and that is backing through the drive-thru. I used to do it in high school when my friends wanted food and I didn't , just not sure how my wife will react, and once I actually had the pimple faced 15 year old refuse to serve me once he saw the car was backwards, whats the point, I was already in there and I hadn't hit anything yet .

don't back through, it gives us all a bad name... instead realize how narrow the vehicle is, and reach across... and while I've never used a drive-through window, I've never had a problem at any toll booths, should be the same.

Read someone indicated that they used a garbage-picker thingy to pass money to toll booth attendants.

Lucienne just batted her big brown eyes and the attendant came round to the other side of the van to get her money...
