Yeah, we'll finish up the rock n' roll bed and get it to where there's a sort of benchmark weight in the rear then see where the rear ends up sitting.

I definitely don't want it to sag once we get our bikes and road trip supplies loaded.

I really think that if you are worried about rubbing your nose then a lift is the answer. I just want to move the coolers cause I know that the way I drive I'm gonna rub those things sooner or later. The expanded steel did look tough and it may go back on in some other function. The steps just isn't the right place for it.

With the air con condensor under the LH step. From what I'm getting is that there are 3 condensors. 1 is in front of the Radiator, 2nd one is inder the step ( I also want to loose this one ) & the third is behind the B/bar. Why so many ???? & if the step one is removed what effect will there be on the operation of the system????

could be oil cooler, tranny cooler and AC...

Hi crusher. Mines a manual l300 & there for dosn't have the tranny cooler under the RH side. The LH side condensor is on all air con jobs. As far as I know all the air con delis have the 3 condensors for the air cons.???

Hi guys,

New Member here, in regards to the A/C condenser delica's have 2 condensers, one infront of the radiator, the other one below the step, the one at the back of the bull bar is the oil cooler.
In the philippines, due to the tropical climate we usually add another condenser to improve the performance of the aircon.

PS if you're really looking to streamline your approach angle, that licence plate mount should be considered. These things stick out like buck teeth. I'm surprised more aren't smashed and bent.

Indeed I'm pretty sure I bent my front lic. plate on the first day, my first "ok that was a little steep".

Since then I've managed to put a half dozen scratches on the bottom of the front stairs, and bend one of them to the point it rubs the tire when it's turned all the way. Took that stair off and tried to bend it back but I don't really have the tools (vice?).

I have thought about removing the stairs but that would expose my A/C rad, and look bad, and I kind of like the stairs there as my early warning system.. ie. I'd rather put another scratch on the rugged steel bars of a stair then mess up a body panel or something else. It's nice to be able to look out the side window while negotiating terrain and see the nice bright white bar and easily tell how close it is to the dirt/rocks. With all the ridiculous terrain I've had the delica through the stairs have been the only victims so it kind of works out well.

Ok - here's my two cents then.
The front steps / protectors / whatever they are....gotta go. For anyone who thinks they should stay - take a look how they are bolted on. Four bolts through some terribly weak brackets. The bottom line? They are for appearance only and will do nothing but smash into your tires and/or the coolers they are supposedly there to protect.

I see only two reasons to keep them;
1 - aesthetics. If you like how they look - keep em.
2 - as "feelers" for when you are getting close to your various coolers...but more than likely, by the time you "feel" them by making contact, those wimpy brackets will have failed and the bars will be jammed up into something.

If you are really wheeling in a deli - then you should seriously consider driving manual (better for wheeling - and no tranny cooler), and very few serious 4x4's have AC anyway...so get rid of that too. For me, I'm just reasonable comfortable knowing where I can and cannot put my vehicle while still avoiding damage to the coolers...mine are gone cuz I don't like things that don't make sense and provide a function (IMHO) - :-D
