What Is the Perfect Tool Kit?

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Second-hand stores, pawn shops, auctions, garage sales are good places to get used tools, sometimes really good ones at reasonable prices. And with used wrenches one can always imagine they were once owned by a patient and skilled mechanic and that that patience and skill rubbed into them and is still there helping you with your current project! :-) New or used, well loved and cared for good quality tools, no matter what kind of work you're doing, are the best way to go :M :-D

Headlamp!!

This is an essential part of my tool kit. Save your teeth!

The other essential in my kit is a Nalegene Bottle wrapped up with duct tape and filled with an assortment of odds and sods. I even have a few printed accident report forms that you can use to get the other persons info and statement. Simple and easy and does not require crossing your fingers and hoping you remember everything. Otherwise it's just filled with a pen and pencil, multi tool 10ft of 4mm cord plus a few other things (surgical gloves, a few folded paper funnels, candle, fuses, napkins) all nicely put in a 1L bottle.

The bottle has been handy a few times when I had my Jeep... over heated a few times.

Otherwise I have the standard bag of tricks for repairs wrenches, pliers, screwydrivers &tc. WD40 and stuff that sort of collected in the bag, like old bits of tape and plastic things that were never thrown out oh and a couple of really old candies (no idea).

don't forget to include some hose clamps ! I saved a guy on the alaska highway with a little hose clamp !! If you have an asortment of them you can use them to hold up mufflers, lights,.......... that kind of thing as well . I like the bottle and duct idea as well. !!! good stuff.

Green1 and jonny5ive is right about the flashlight!! A nice bright flashlight is of critical importance.
The Mighty Boosh !!
