Mine is just made of the toughest expanded metal mesh I could fine locally and attached with the existing bolts using big washer to hold on.
The stream crossing that I was present at was on the reconnaissance mission for the Harrison West FSR Deux run. On the actual weekend camp out creek crossing I had broken off from the main group to follow Frisch (I think it was the smell of a BBQ that attracted me) and later the main group had caught up with us. Soon after this point Adam & Patty were under Patty's machine removing a cover plate that I think covered the steering unit ~ it was pretty bent up. How it got that way I know not. Later Patty was trying some daring manoeuvres ~ so it wouldn't surprise me if he tried the stream.

I was thinking of getting something like what you have for the rad/fan to catch that bizarre errant rock or marmot from getting into the fan. There is a guy I know who does some of my work and has a plasma cutter down on East First Street in North Van. I was thinking of the one inch expanded metal with a nice powder coating for aesthetics (I am in for the vanity aspect, too, JRman). If you are going to be at the Show & Tell tomorrow at the McDonald's at Boundary & Lougheed (10:00 am, Saturday, 5 April,08) I can tell you more about it and you can show me yours....

Regarding the windfall across the roads.... I have tools for the smaller stuff. Maybe I should invest in a chainsaw?

Falco.

Cmon, all the reason not to have a skid plate! Snuggled up to a hot radiator, by the time you get to camp, dinner 'l be done!

Kevin,

Are you trying to hijack this tread? 8-)
Powell River, never been but would love to. When is the best time and no, I really don't miss mosquitos! (so let's keep that in the equation!). Kidding! Grew up north in Quebec and they don't really like my blood type?!? I think a long weekend would be best time... But if you're serious about it, start a new post maybe...
