Ahhhhh, that's about $250 out of my price range, hopefully Alpine's truck welding and fabrication shop can build something a bit cheaper.

I'm guessing in this case no news is not good news.

Sorry, I'm out of town at a training camp this week...however, I got it done, will post contact info when I get back to Vic, but they did a real nice job, they have the plans and will do more for $310 each.

Will post a pic later too, haven't got them on this computer.

That's the best price I've seen yet. Still more than I was hoping, but if I could find a road trip long enough to require me to carry 250 litres of extra WVO then I could justify the cost. So something about 1600 km away......hmmm, Disneyland?

I'd still like to see some pics if you have them, I just bought a $90 hitch from Princess Auto, but I'm still on the fence as to whether I should get it modified to fit or go with a custom option. If it is only $100 or so more I might be safer to get one built in Vic from your guy.

Well, I gotta get the hitch install within the next few week so I wanted to check the contact info with you:

960 Henry Eng Place, Victoria, BC V9B 6B2
PH:250.474.2002

Does that look right? Is there someone I should ask for specifically that worked on your hitch? If you have any pics I'd love to see them.

Thanks for your help,

Adam

The guy to talk to at Alpine is Roy Haslam.

They have the template on hand and should be able to make a Delica hitch for about $300. Mine has worked well so far

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a call. With your hitch are you able to keep your spare tire in the original spot? Do you have sway bars that they had to work around?

I was hoping to see some pics of it installed :) I really liked the 2 extra receivers on the hitch from max overdrive I think it was. I was thinking that a spare tire holder could be mounted on one or both of those for when I add another tank for more range.

Yeah, there should be a forum rule about teasing members with pictures and not delivering :-)

Ya ya.......thanks for the encouragement......here you go. Sorry if the pics aren't great, but it's dark out.
Both my spare tire and sway bars are still in tact. It's bolted onto the old chrome bumper bar hole and through the frame....the frame bolt you can't see in the pic because it was too dark for me to see it under the van just now....but trust me it's there.
I painted to match the silver on the van.
It's fully custom, so if you want anything else added on, I'm sure they can do it for you.

Nice job, thanks for the pics, I'm in. I'll call them today.

EDIT: I called Roy and am going in for a fitting the next time I'm in town (Friday May 3rd). Sound like it will all work out, thanks for the help.

It took most of the day, but it is done. Alpine custom built and installed my hitch, now WVO pick ups and road trips will be a breeze.
