If that's the part I think it is, your turbo is probably working fine supplying extra air to the engine, but with the leaky compensator, it's not delivering the extra fuel it needs, so it would run very lean (aka gutless) all the time.

X1000 to everyone who suggests getting this fixed will have a noticeable improvement in power. Also, I wouldn't try tuning a lot else (filters, Seafoam, etc.) until you get this primary issue fixed and see how it runs.

Installed the new part this morning (mailed to my house from CC auto - thanks!) and I notice a subtle but marked improvement for sure. I've only taken it up a few hills on my 10min drive to work but already it seems to hold its speed much better and even accelerate up hill sometimes! haha. Previously, any incline in the road would cause the engine to bog down. With the window down I can hear the faint whistle of the turbo which I don't seem to remember before and the engine overall seems have a more stable and less stressful sound to it if that makes sense. Wish I had noticed this tiny little crack a year earlier!!!

Next thing to try is a fuel additive. I've been recommended Seafoam and Stanadyne. Differences?

Glad to hear it's sorted out.

Seafoam is not a fuel conditioner. It's used to clean deposits through your fuel system and is used as a one-off use.

Redline and Stanadyne are fuel conditioners.

Conditioners are for regular maintenance,to keep your fuel system clean,lubricated and efficient while driving.
Seafoam is more a one shot cleaner.
