Hello from a new Mitsubishi owner...

Post by clintonian »

Hello to all! I am the proud new owner of a 1993 Pajero Exceed LWB that I picked up from Maximum Overdrive. I have had it a week and so far other than a couple of pending issues that Sabbir is fixing, I am loving joining the world of the RHD. I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone who has been contributing to this board, as I have been sucking up the information from you all in order to make my buying decision easier.

I really started out wanting the Delica, but alas my wife, who I think, secretly has an affection for them, still didn't like the thought of having a van - she called the Delica a "Pig Van" when I first showed it to her! lol...

Anyway, she was very hesitant and at first, against getting a RHD vehicle, but now she would rather drive the Pajero than our Mini. It makes me laugh. Anyway, I have a couple of questions that I couldn't find an answer to when searching. I realize my questions pertain to a Pajero, but I figured there may be people who are familiar with both...

First, does anyone know where I could get (somewhere in the lower mainland) a hitch for the Pajero? Second, does anyone know of any garages in the south lower mainland (I'm in South Surrey) that can look at JDM's? It would be nice to have a contact a little closer to where I live for more minor stuff.

Thanks again to everyone for allowing me to feast on your knowledge of JDM's! I have also found a good website in http://www.pocuk.com for us Pajero owners. They also have tons of good JDM (Pajero) information as well.

Just one more thing, Thanks to Sabbir who was great to deal with when I made my purchase.

Cheers!

I think you can get a hitch that you can bolt on from Lordco. Under $300.00 if I remember correctly. Check with Hasid33 as he put one on his Pajero.

For work on your Pajero or Delica contact Amazing Auto Imports and Mardy will take great care of you. 604-247-2111

Heh - konadog, it's funny - I didn't even own one yet and I felt the same way you did reading my post! I told her that it was offensive to me as a prospective buyer! lol... Anyway, she does now like them a heck of a lot better in terms of style. She fancies herself as a minivan hater and threw Delicas in with them. I said "Hey, hey, just a second there! You can't compare a Delica to a domestic minivan!" Sheesh.

Now I just have to trade her mini in for a Delica... Who gets the last laugh?

Another option would be to trade your wife in for the hitch :-)

Hello fellow Pajero owner. E&H Burnaby cutom makes hitches for about $350 tax in, it will be bombproof compared to the bolt on type. I have one on mine.

Hey thanks for your help! I can't wait to get a hitch on mine so I can get a small utility trailer for dump runs, etc. I miss that about my old pickup. The box was handy for those types of things. I sure love being a part of this community though. I can't wait until I run into someone who either asks me about it (RHD) or is a fellow JDM'er.
