Deli parts: Lordco, CDNTire?
Just wondering where Deli drivers find 'regular' wear parts, such as wiper blades, air filers, oil filters, brake pads, etc.
Does Lordco, CDNTire or elsewhere carry equivalent parts? Since Mitsubishi has only been in Canada for a couple years, there must not be a lot of general parts in catalogues etc.
BTW, rarely a day goes by that I don't see a Deli, Pajero, or Prado LDM import here in Victoria - it's awesome, and I drool at every one.
I'm leaning towards a Deli but might wait for an L400 (if they ever make it here) with the Pajero chassis.
Having just returned from a few years in Japan, it's tough to pay +/-$9000 for a car which in Japan, I could have bought off the lot for $1300 (and almost did).
Cheers,
BH

we sell Japanese Oil filters for $20, they better quality than you will find in lordco or Napa and cheaper too.

The 'problem' with Lordco and like stores is that they can't help you if they can't find your vehicle in their computer. Because the Delica is not a vehicle which was sold here, they have no parts for it.
If you tell them you need front brake pads for a 1990 Mitsubishi Delica, they'll look at you like you've just thrown a steaming lump of poo on the counter and then tell you they can't help you. If however you tell them you need front brake pads for a late-80s Montero (which shared a lot of similar parts as our vans and was sold as a captive import), they'll punch the keys on the keyboard, disappear into the back, and then skip back to the counter with a smile on their faces. "Have a nice day!" they'll grin as they take your money.
Basically, it's a little more effort to maintain these vans, but it's not insurmountable. If you want genuine Mitsubishi parts, there are a couple of companies to choose from: Rocky Mountain Imports, Maximum Overdrive, and Coombs Country Auto to name a few. Sometimes it really is worth it to get the part with "Mitsubishi" or "MMC" inked on the box.

this is canadian tires attitude:
"youre RHD will break, you cannot get parts for it, you should not have bought it"
at napa they told me they dont sell parts for RHD. i told them the engine doesnt care what side the driver is on... i get stuff there sometimes. mostly i just order from glen at CC to be sure i get the right thing the first time. he'll ship to me if im not on the island

If it makes you feel any better, ours are bought for that price there as well... give or take a few bucks. Its the getting them here that drives up the price.bighorn wrote: Having just returned from a few years in Japan, it's tough to pay +/-$9000 for a car which in Japan, I could have bought off the lot for $1300 (and almost did).

As for parts they are becoming easy peasy to find these days, especially with the help of this community!
