climate control diagram?

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

climate control diagram?

Post by Green1 »

I have copies of service manual sections for almost everything, except the climate control system, and it is precisely that part which I appear to need right now.

My air conditioning is having some issues, a few months ago the problem was the low pressure cut-out switch, and when that switch was bypassed the system worked properly, now I have sourced a new low-pressure cut-out switch and it has been installed and the system fully charged, however we can't seem to get the system to operate, I have checked the fuses in the main fuse box as well as the six fuses behind the glove-box and they all seem to be fine.

A climate control wiring diagram would be very helpful about now!

Anyone have anything on that part of the vehicle?

If I can find the power adaptor for my scanner, I can get you a copy of the full genuine Mitsy wiring digram for the dual system AC....

I'll have a hunt for it tomorrow and see if I can get it workking. (too tired and too drunk to go routing round for it this time of night! )

Hey Bruce and Green1
Do you have that wiring diagram for the L300 1992 air conditioning system?

I would appreciate a copy to help solve my a/c problems. Pls send soon.

Fuses are good and bypass power turns the a/c pump but doesn't blow cold air. I suspect it needs a evac and recharge but I could prove it with a wiring diagram. I'll post on the WIKI if you send to me.

Thanks

Since we are on the topic of A/C. I would like to know where the recharge outlet is and how do I know if my system takes the new r-12 stuff (I think that's what its called). Some of the shops that I went to wouldn't touch it due to age and race(import predjudice). Just wondering if there is something that I can do to help the situation and get the A/C working, because if I can't then the whole system is comming out.

Ouch! You don't sound happy!
The recharge is neatly tucked away to the rear of the wiring to the magnetic clutch on top of the compressor. You'll see the plastic cap, looks like a tire fill cap.

I'm not sure how much to refill or if you can mix the two refridgerants together or you need to evacuate the system before refillling. The refridgerant you can use is available at KMS tools, Lordco and other places.

i heard some stories about how to refill the system but need to check it out first. i'm waiting on Brruce or Green1 to reply to the wiring diagram first. search air conditioning inthe Delica siter and gleen what's there. I've been doing that all day today. Keep in touch. Also about the June meet too. see my reply.

and I'm still waiting for Bruce, he never did get back to me on that one...

of course right at the moment I'm not having a very good delica day... so I'm very close to saying screw it and buy a different Delica... (I currently seem to have no A/C, a broken turbo, some rust spots, and as of today, a seized engine :-( ) hopefully in a couple days I'll be looking at all of this differently though....

Hey Green 1
Sorry to hear about your delica. Hate that when more than one problem comes up at a time. I'll try to get a wiring diagram elsewhere and send you a copy.

Take care

Jeeez Green1 - that sounds like the recipe for a bad day if I ever heard one!

I hope you get it sorted/fixed/on the road very soon.....and if I was a little nearer, I'd offer to help where I could!

Back to the AC diagrams - sorry that I haven't got them for you yet...I'd completely forgotten to do them and I've also been 'off site' for a while during a bout of maniacal working!

Right - my main objective tonight is to find a power supply for my scanner and get them copied for you. Here's hoping you get them sometime this year.... :-)

trust me, right about now all I want is to be nearer to some of the "experts" whether that be you and the others in the UK, or even out on the coast... but as it is I'm in Calgary, so this may be a little challenging.
I'm really at quite a loss as to where to start and what to do, I'm also a little worried about the cost, I am seriously considering the idea of buying a new delica and parting out this one...

NOOOOOO - keep the faith....use the force! 8-)

I've put a response in your other thread - have a read of that, see what you make of it and let me know?

You say you live 'in Calgary' but that is a big city (compared to where I live anyway?) and there must be some good mechanics around there? I have a mechanic shop about 200yds from my house, yet I've never taken my Deli there...I've always taken it to Mark Giles who is about 3hrs away from me....but if my engine ever blew, I wouldn't hesitate to roll it over to them for them to pull it apart/have a look so that I could establish what I needed to do - even if they couldn't complete the work. At least I'd then know what I was dealing with and could start to plan what to do next?

Fingers crossed my friend, fingers crossed....

Green1.

I'll ask some of the Pajero guys in Calgary where they get their work done and PM you the info.

May take a day or two.

The theory is good, but in practice things seem to be a bit different over here... to start with, diesel engines are still quite rare around here, most small shops won't touch them, add to that the relative rarity of imported vehicles, and most shops won't touch them either... leaves things a little more challenging...
I rather wish I lived somewhere where I could pick up a whole running vehicle for $400 and work on it from there...

Hey Bruce,Green1 and others
The biggest problem I have is to identify the components that belong to the climate control system. The logic is starting to come clear but schematics and parts location is a blur. Do you know where the individual components (not fuses) are located? What do they look like? I can see the 3 lockout components on the engine top but where is the low system pressure switch?

I'll start to go over the system again this afternoon. Wish me luck.
