Best source for brake parts?
Its come time for me to replace the front brakes on the Deli, the whole setup not just the pads. Been scouring around trying to find the best place to buy the parts, anyone have a good suggestion? I usually get everything from CCAutos since its convenient, not sure if they are the best source for these parts though. I'd like to get high quality parts, I want these to last a while. Looking for pads, rotors and calipers.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Best source for brake parts?
Rotors get from CCA, pads and callipers are Montero and can be picked up from any parts store. The front rotors are Delica specific unfortunately!

Re: Best source for brake parts?
Aa thank you, couldnt remember if it was the calipers or rotors that were delica specific. A week ago I saw a site on here having a sale on brake parts for the L400...now I can't find it dammit. O well I will get some quotes locally and see how the prices compare to CCAutos

I order parts from Japan through Yahoo.co.jp and jauce.com but may be paying more and waiting longer than if you can find a local supplier.

What year of Montero pads would I ask for? Looking for front pads for my 1996 l400. Part number would be great.
Thanks

Re: Best source for brake parts?
I lucked out and my parts van has brand new slotted rotors on the front and slotted and drilled on the rear, new calipers and pads all around.

Can anyone supply the answer to this? Or tell me where to look?sfd_656 wrote:What year of Montero pads would I ask for? Looking for front pads for my 1996 l400. Part number would be great.

I need to replace the brake pads on my 94 L400 LWB.
The only other time I needed brake work was in Mexico and it was dealt with quickly and cheaply, but that's a bit far to go...

Hey! If you have a Lordco in your area call Lordco Burnside (in Victoria) and ask for some part numbers that you can carry into your local store. They have the largest crossover list around. I've bought shocks (they had 3 options), pads, calipers, rear shoes. For instance the Right hand caliper Part # AC Delco 18FR405 (L300).
You just call them up and ask about the Delica parts list.

Fitinpart.com
You can put in your year, body and engine and it'll hook you up with callipers, pads, and filters.
No rotors there though.

Gotta love the mystery of it all.

Re: Best source for brake parts?
Thanx Guys
I'm in the process of moving to the interior and there is a Lordco 2 blocks away. I got the part numbers from Fitinpart.com.
I'll report back once I've received and installed them

Best source for brake parts?
Resurrecting an old thread because I still haven't found the parts I need, I hope someone here can help.
I have a 1994 L400 (Series 1) LWB with a stuck brake caliper on the front right. I need to find a part number Lordco can use to get me a rebuilt caliper.
I am in the southern interior of BC and there is a Lordco close by.
I have tried everything I can think of; I've called the Lordco Victoria Burnside store who have lots of Delica part numbers, but not what I need. I have told my local Lordco that I need a caliper for a Montero V6, but they say "which one?" And the pictures they have for the calipers are very different from mine.
I have pulled the caliper and I'm stuck until I can get the replacement part...
Thanx if you can help

Best source for brake parts?
Thanx, I did, and ordered a rebuilt. They are good and I'm pretty sure I've ordered from them in the past, and will in the future. Such as crank pulley and exhaust.
However, I still want to get the part numbers for the brake parts (usable by Lordco or Napa) so I can get them quickly (and without shipping costs) for future reference and future travels. Now that I'm retired and live away from the Lower Mainland, I need to be more self sufficient and thrifty.
I know there is a Montero model for all parts except the front rotors but Lordco asks model questions I can't answer yet.
If someone knows the numbers for an 94 L400 Series One LWB 4M40, please post them. Once I figure them out, I will post them here.
Calipers (front and rear)
Caliper seal kits (front and rear, if different)
Pads (front and rear, if different)
Rotors (front and rear)
Thanx folks

This Lordco used to have a Delica parts # reference sheet.

I've been there a few times and they've pulled it out to check.

I called the Victoria Lordco who have a reference list on "a computer in the back" but it didn't list the calipers. I will call the N. Van store in a bit, and report...
thanx
