Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Alternator Replacement/Wiring

Post by camrun2006 »

I just replaced my dead alternator in my 1991 Delica L300 P35W with a remanufactured one and I ended up with a wire that I don't know what to do with. I connected (all the obvious ones on the alternator) the main "terminal" connection, a connection with the rubber gasket over it, and the big 25mm one on the upper right side of the alternator, but there is a black shielded wire that I don't remember taking off...an earth connection or something? But where does it go? It's just an exposed wire on the end that had a j-hook shape. Any ideas? It looks like it stretches beyond the alternator (meaning it's pretty long, not obviously the same length as the alternator)

Oil sensor? They are like the 4wd wires and can be disconnected overtime. Its located close to your oil filter. There is a wire in proximity to the alternator that runs to it. Or at least in my case, hung down until I reattached.

Thanks, i’ll check that. Makes sense as I thought there were only three main connections to the alternator.
