Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

I have my front skid plate, but I'm wondering how many skid plates the L300 has stock?

I think there is a rear one covering the alternator, oil pan, etc? or is there more?

There should be a large flat (ish) tray covering the engine and alternator. You shouldn't be able to see your crank pulley from below.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

There is also one covering the sway bar, one that is kind of a wind deflector on top of it, and one covering the diff.

An aluminum skid plate was available which covers most of the front. Not a good picture but I think yo can see where is.

Thanks! this confirms that I'm definitely missing all plates except the forward one, not too concerned about getting a fancy upgraded one, but after the recent mud splatter fest in my engine bay during a good mud crawl I'm thinking it prudent to seek out the ones covering engine/diff/sway bar!

I'm wondering if removing (then replacing) the four bolts, that hold the two bars in place under the oil pan (pictured above) would pose any problems? They appear to be connecting the frame of the van (???). I would like to attach a piece of metal to deflect mud and catch oil with an oil absorbing pad attached on top. I could just use some zap ties, but bolts + steel plate would be better I think.

I want to fix the leak and have a Rear Main Seal in my tool box, but in the meantime would like to catch the oil . . .

Those bars stabilise the engine mount frame (the big tube). I wouldn't drive without them installed, but removing them temporarily is easy enough. A strong skid plate bolted into the two bars' mounting holes would do the same job as they do.

You're correct that the sump and oil drain does not have a skid plate from the factory.

Your oil leak looks like it's mostly coming from the oil drain plug, maybe a new sealing washer would fix most of it? The rear main seal leak mostly comes out the little hole in the transmission bellhousing. Though of course there are many, many other places higher up on the engine that leak, it could be dribbling down from above.

I'm fairly sure the oil is only collecting at the drain plug, rather than leaking from there. Reason being the leak only happens when pressurized (engine running). If I wipe the oil clean it stops the leak after a few days no driving.

The oil is coming from the oil filter area, but the filter is tight. I replaced the oil pressure sensor suspecting that originally, but oil appears to originate above there in the oil filter bracket area. I was planning to see how difficult access would be to eliminate any leaks at the filter bracket; I was told to use silicone gasket maker as the gasket is difficult to source.

On the injection pump side of the engine I strongly suspect oil dipstick tube, and that metal plate which has a gasket. I have new gaskets for those parts and plan on replacing them while my radiator is out later this month.

This may all fix the oil leaks, but just trying to fashion something for the mean-time so I'm not leaving black spots all around :) and something that will deflect mud from the engine bay is a bonus! I figure aluminum plate and some U-bolts around those cross-bars may be better than using the bolts themselves ...

Good link. Those are great but it doesn't protect the inlet to radiator.
