Where to get bushings? L300
I'm going through and replacing any bushings that are looking worn, (possibly everything) Where's a good source for stock bushings, and/or poly aftermarket in North America? I can ship from overseas if needed but would prefer NA.
Any that should be polyurethane vs rubber? Or any that I should stick with rubber for? this will see a bit of offroad use.

Good question. While I haven't expressly searched the forum yet, I'd also like to see little splashes of Red Poly poking out from beneath my Deli. :)

Re: Where to get bushings? L300
On the leaf springs and front lower arm I would fit genuine Mitsubishi bushes- our suspension is fairly primitive and relies on flex in the rubber, and polyurethane won't last long, especially if you're going off road. The upper arm bushes are not available separately, you have to order the entire upper arm as far as I know. Anti-roll bar links and steering rack mounts can be polyurethane if you want, but really it's not a sports car, you're unlikely to notice any difference in handling.
I recently bought a bunch of parts from Southwest Mitsubishi in Texas. They were super helpful and their prices were good too. https://oemmitsubishiparts.com/. Normally I order through Amayama.com, I'd compare their prices before ordering.
Since it's a JDM with a weird VIN, It's probably a good idea to look up the part numbers yourself first. Just watch out for the lower suspension arm bushes- one of Mitsubishi's parts books has an error and suggests that the front and rear bushes were different sizes, when they should all be the same. On my van they were part number MB430964.

Damn you Growler and your words of wisdom! You're right, I should fix my dripping brake master first, ugh...Growlerbearnz wrote:...can be polyurethane if you want, but really it's not a sports car, you're unlikely to notice any difference in handling.

I've been buying bushings from Febest out of Florida. It's a German co. but the parts (as usual) are from China. Look up the mitsu number and type it in on the Febest site.
If they offer it usually it sells on Ebay and US shipping is free. Cost is 1/2 of Canadian prices including exchange and quality seems good. One year warranty on all parts.
It's amazing how many different parts they sell. Send and pickup to a US mailbox.
Request one parcel only shipping.

Re: Where to get bushings? L300
When I'm having difficulties finding the bushing that i need i simply remove the existing ones that i need, drive to my local Napa store/Lordco/Canadian tire or else and have them search their inventories for a matching one...
They (the older guys that knows how to really search parts) can find exactly the right fit by measuring and comparing what you need. I've been pretty lucky so far with all my bushings..
Good luck!

Send some pics of your press and the tools you use for the odd angle bushing removals. As a newbee pressing out was difficult, in was easy...
I need a few ideas if I press out any more .
I will ask at Lordco this afternoon if they will mate up bushings for me .
thx

Use heat!!! Torches are best!!! For a press.. the use of a home vice works... port-a-power works as well... always use shop hand soap to press in the new bushing... it help and the soap will dry... basically!!! Enjoy the black smoke!!!

Hey, are you referring to the bushings in the cross-member brackets by chance? Seems you need to buy the whole bloody cross to get these.ChuckBlack wrote:Oh and even all my tranny mount bushing i was able to match them up pess-out pess-in in 5 min!!! No need to buy a whole new parts!!!
2nd on the pictures call!

Re: Where to get bushings? L300
Your receipt for the compatible bushings from Lordco (or wherever) wouldn't happen to have part numbers, would they? Those would be super handy to know. I'm about to order the whole crossmember but shipping is more than the cost of the part!

Re: Where to get bushings? L300
Easy solutions... Bring your parts with the bushing removed to your local Napa...or Suspension shop or even Traction... Any old timers parts guys should be able to match anything you Need!!! I just happen to be smarter than your average new parts tech!!! Their typical questions still remains by asking the VIN... and without the VIN they become absolutely useless!!! I argued so many times with parts guys that I now ask for the oldest parts guy in the shop... no disrespect for the new generations.... but seriously get it together!!! just saying... But really, bring all your old parts to whoever deals generic bushings in your city and ask the old guys!!!

Re: Where to get bushings? L300
Hi Chuck, any luck finding any photos or part numbers for those bushings? That would be really great.
Cheers.
