Coffee and (diesel) clatter - Feb 20

Post by robbieg »

Meeting up with VanVonVan to meet him and say 'hi', but public invite!
Safeway on River and Osbourne 7:30 on Wednesday Feb 20. There's a starbucks on the lot, so we can warm up with some overpriced delicious beverages!
Should be informal. If you can't be there on time, it's cool. Just show up. If you see a bunch of Delis (and at least 1 pajero) come on in. I'll be the loud one :)

I love overpriced coffee. Well just coffee in general. I believe I saw you cruising down sherbrook yesterday around 4:50pm unless someone else in Winnipeg has a blue shorty.

See ya then

I always enjoy seeing delis, pajeros, land cruisers, surfs. I wave like a fanatical crazy person every time I see any right hand drive. Some people wave back.... :-D Others I assume think I am an odd person. I know the people who I am not waving at, but see me waving, look at me like I am crazy.

Drat, one day too early. I have to come in on thursday for my 6 week check up on the new knee. Oh well, I probably wouldn't stay that late, as my wife is coming too, and she's just not into the late night driving thing. Also, probably won't be in my Delica either. Wrecked and air bag on the rear air ride suspension, and still waiting for the new one. Next time maybe.

New Delica owner in Winnipeg. Will try and link up at Safeway. I'm responsible for Jason having to drive another vehicle because I purchased his L400 Gen II. Loving it.

Yeah, he's the one. I still have my lwb l400, and the l300. Still waiting on an air bag for the l400, and haven't finished reassembling the l300, after stripping numerous parts off of it to keep others running. But yeah, I'll try and let you guys know when I'm coming in next.

I maybe should have expanded more on the first part of my post, while "he's the one", I had enjoyed meeting Victor and his wife, and I really appreciate their patience while waiting over a month for my slow recovery. I always seem to meet great people because of these vehicles.

It was super cool meeting some more Winnipeg Deli/pajero owners.

Jason your wife must be getting mad you keep selling her vans. :-D

Also thanks Rob for giving a ride in you shorty, it is amazing what that 2.8 feels like in something half the size and weight. Its a zippy engine!

Funny you say that Russell, my wife was more ticked that I sold the van, than the fact that I was gone on Valentines Day to drop it off for Victor. She got to drive yours. For 2 years, and we were kind of figuring the same on the series 2. Oh well, we'll start shopping again. Got the air bag for my lwb. Woo hoo, hopefuly put it in tomorrow, and start burning oil again.
