I don't know how long the sale is/was in effect and didn't check CT but I bought 1 can for $8.99 instead of usual $12.32. That was July 18.

Overall my Dellie's running well. The one thing is that at idle at a traffic light or where ever, the engine will sometimes hiccup or miss. It just does it momentarily & then returns to smooth idle. It just does this once in a while out of the blue when engine is at normal temp. I'm wondering if maybe there's a bit of water in the fuel system or something.

Here's why I wonder about water: a couple of weeks ago it stalled (while still cold) in my garage. It was all I could do just to keep it turning over; as though firing on one cylinder. So I sat with it and gradually raised the RPM as I was able to and an ungawdly heap of blue smoke billowed out for about two minutes and then suddenly it smoothed out completely.

Since then it's been running better than it has in ages and the little hiccup thing has become less frequent. So, I really haven't a clue what it is and silly me, I forgot to even mention it when I took it in to CVI for a tune a while ago. I just assumed the tune would sort it out.

As I mentioned, it's improved since the smoke event but now I'm curious as to whether Seafoam might fix it up altogether. Probably can't hurt to try.

I don't know about any adapter thing. This is just a regular can for diesel or gas engine etc. I bought at Guildford Lordco in north Surrey. They've moved from Whalley to a huge place in the Guildford mall, north end.

Well, I hope it's not too soon to report on this as I wouldn't want to jinx the results!

I ran the tank down 'til low fuel warning light came on and then dumped in the whole bottle of Seafoam. I hit the highway from N. Surrey out to Abbotsford, running it pretty hard for about 25 minutes; then turned back and filled up in Aldergrove. It ran great the whole time and since then has not once done the little hiccup thing it was previously doing from time to time. NOT even ONCE! So I'm a happy camper.

At this point it seems safe to say the issue has been resolved with Seafoam!

Their blurb mentions "controls moisture"... http://www.seafoamsales.com/motor-treatment.html ... and as the idling glitch I was experiencing had survived a tune up and injector tune, I can only assume there was some errant moisture interfering.

Whatever the cause, it's all good now; Knock on wood!

Have you tried adding it to the oil? I just bought some and it says for use in gas, diesel, or crankcase (oil).

if you ad it to the oil run your van for 30 - 60 min or 100 kms then get the oil changed right away as this loosens all the nasty bits around the oil rings and other nooks n crannies....

Good to know. Is there anything other than the oil and filter that will need to be replaced if I do this?

I disagree, I like seeing old topics come up, sometimes get fresh ideas or remind me of something I wanted to do etc. It is a "discussion" forum after all and the topics should cater to new people as well as those that have been around for a while, I could otherwise just google info and avoid this sight but enjoy the rambling. Also very good to flash up old ideas for newbies that might not otherwise stumble across them. Personally when I see an old topic that I am no longer interested in, I just don't open that thread.........

I have also noticed that many, especially new members, have a hard time digging up old info with the search function and don't mind summarizing old findings or throwing in a link.

This is not an old topic but there is a good chance now that it will become a clone of the old one I provided the link to. One of the reasons why some people have problems finding info they are looking for on this forum is because that particular subject is all over the place. It is much better to have one 38-page thread covering the subject rather then digging through 27 different threads a few posts each with similar content. It is much easier for me to find the answer on delicaclub.ru because their moderators constantly amalgamate information depending on the topic and giving a hard time to those who pollute with asking questions before reading the answers. For example, there is a 30-page thread 'Automatic Transmission' where you can find all related troubleshooting information. The only well organized topic on our forum is the 'Last Word Cafe'.

Just dump it in, run it, drain and fill with new filters. Your engine will like you for it.

Sunds nice and simple!

So I just did my first Seafoam engine flush. WOW!!! My engine seems to run smoother, start easier, idle quieter and the knocks have gone away. I can also hear my turbo spool better and I've noticed that my EGT's are down by almost 100 degrees. I did switch to Shell Rotella 5w-40 synthetic. Not sure if that is going to add to the change. I am impressed with the results anyways.
