Hey there, I am looking to purchase a Delica and I have found one nearby, however, there are a few issues which I don't know how much it would cost to fix. The van is being sold for $5500 CAD. The issues : rusting around base of steering column, small rust on rear door, speedometer not working (apparently a new wire is the only thing needed to fix it, unsure of difficulty or price) and possibility for the need of new tires. There are photos here of the van, I have more as well. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-rv-motorhome/ci ... pp_android

Any and all help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hmmmm. Hard to say without seeing it, but, if the rust is minimal (ie surface rust, NOT holes-in-the-floor rust) and the undercarriage is not too rusty (same idea), and it has been maintained well (especially the timing belt!!!) and you are remotely handy/adventurous/willing to learn in all things mechanical, then this is a decent price.

It's been said before and will undoubtedly be said again, these are awesome vehicles if you like to tinker, maintain, repair them yourself ... or are wealthy. They are pretty easy to work on and everything you'll need to know you can find on this forum.

Good luck! :)

Best to bring it to a mechanic for a safety inspection. That is pretty routine in Manitoba, I assume also in Ontario. Here one needs a current safety to register and licence a vehicle and you'll get an impartial view of any issues that need attention. Your going to have to spend that money anyway and if you dodge a bunch of costly repairs, money well spent even if you end up not purchasing the vehicle.

Explosion-proof lighting is designed to meet the illumination of dangerous sites with inflammable gas and dust. The LED lighting unit meets the harshest environmental specification of gas group hydrogen. It can prevent sparks and high temperature inside the lamp to ignite the combustible gas and dust in the surrounding environments.
