BC Just Outlawed Custom Touch Up Paints

Post by dr_airtime »

Frack! first stop with my new L400 Low Roof freshly arrived from Japan was LordCo for custom touch up paints with their color matching gun and the BC Government has basically outlawed the manufacturing of custom touch up paints!

I'd stop by LordCo every fall with old L300 to get fresh set and touch up any wear/chip spots on the Van to prevent rust. Now - the BC Government has made it impossible to get a paint that matches! Stupid.

Not hard to find the original Mitsu. paint code but the match won't be perfect due to actual paint fade.

I reached out to the US Forum (mostly Pacific NW owners) to try to find a touch up paint source, say in Bellingham, who will ship up to BC. Once you find a paint code that works for you it could be just an annual order (the little bottles will dry-up within 12 months).

I'll update the forum when I find a source in Bellingham. This applies to L300s & L400s so posted it here.

For reference - here are the L400 paint codes from the UK forum:

Update: Napa FERNDALE, WA (i.e. just 15km south of Surrey) can match touch up paints to match Mitsubishi paint code specs. Napa Bellingham does not.

I thought this was important to post for both L300 and L400 owners but will move all future conversations over to this thread in the L400 tech forum:
