Hi,
Im waiting for my delica, she's still in japan at this moment. I know one of the first thing i will have to do upon arrival, it will need new tire, and im looking for something slightly bigger than oem size. Im thinking about 235/75/15.
My question is : how do they feel on oem alloy wheel? Does the larger tire will affect drivability, especially in curve where the tires may wave more than thinner tire( sorry, i have some difficulty to explain).
You know, when the car doesnt react fast when you hit the steering in one direction.

Also, noise is really important for me, so I suppose I have to get away of those big thread tire? They look cool, but im pretty sure that they come with extra sound.

Do you have any idea of which tire i should get, considering these 2 important thing for me...

I think that size you will have tire rub and wheel well issues unless you lift it!

Tires are a personal choices
I run General Grabber AT2 good tire it’s a lot like the BF Goodwrench A/T.

I run General Grabbers on my van. They are surprisingly quiet. I like them in the snow. Mine are 235/75 R15. I think that is the stock tire size. They dont rub at at all on my van. No lift kit, just heavy duty springs.

My L300 came with street tires. Great overall but I went to A/T's. First set were Yokohama Geolanders. Very noisy and stiff (re:bounce) but great in the cold, snow and wet. The current set are OK Tire Brand (Canada) Black Lions. Not quite as noisy as the previous and a softer sidewall so not as bouncy. Still good in the cold, snow and wet. Downside was lower gas mileage from the regular street tires. As far as handling goes...
it's a van, so they don't corner as good as a car or motorcycle.

I personally prefer a bigger A/T, the trade off of all weather performance vs handling and mileage is worth it as I drive in snow country occasionally.

Any A/T will be more aggressive. The question is: What kind of driving are you doing?

I am not gonna offroad the van. It will never see snow because in quebec, snow means salt. The only appealing thing from the bigger tire are the look.
I would like a good compromise of look, driving and comfort(sound).

Right now I'm contemplating either BFG AT KO2s or Geolanders in 30.5" on stock rims. The slight lift plus improved performance in cold weather is a necessity and the Wranglers that came on it don't do what I want.

I run a 30x9.50R15 on our L300. I have new Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 all-terrains and love them so far. Quiet, capable, and they also feature the winter tire mark.

I was told 30x9.50 is the larges size you can fit without a lift. So far so good. Love these tires.

Just ordered a full set of BFG A/T KO2s in 30x9.50R15. I'll have them I stalled on Wednesday and let you know what I think then. I've run this tire before on VWs and I really loved it.

94 L400 series 1 LWB.
Rarely off road, but we see our share of snow. Heavy loads often.
Came to me with Grabber AT2 235 75R15 - 90,000 kms ago. I keep them at 40 psi.

Love 'em. Just ordered 2 more because I ruined 1. Not because they wore out; lots of life yet.
