Post by willskigilbert »

Hi Delica people!
We are moving from Saskatchewan to Ottawa. I am looking for tips with insurance, garages for my Deli in Ottawa or any other tips. Thank you.

Has for the the Van its goes strong expect for an oil leak from the oil sensor on the vaccum pump that made a mess of the engine bay... but I had an other so its fine now its still needs a engine bay wash when its a bit warmer....

And the battery and water and and fuel light dimmly come on sometimes when its cold so maybe the the alternator????

Thank you !

I've seen Delica's at avenues garage on Richmond, in Westboro.

I'm not local though so I'm sure there are some other places too.

I've got a friend who works at the local VW Dealership where I live in Peterborough. He's been there 40 plus years and is a whiz on all the old buses and basically anything diesel. He's been working on my L300 since I've owned it, about 5 years now, and he's great!! The only set back is that you have to pay VW's shop rates which are expensive!! Still, I think it's worth it and he is happy to work on Delicas.

Insurance might be a bit tricky. Unless things have changes, no one seems to want to insure RHD vehicles.

Anyway, good luck with everything.

Cheers, Phil

I just recently purchased my Delica in Ontario and just went through the insurance search. I found a great broker in Brockville, who also owns/drives a RHD. He got me all set up without any hassles or issues. If you need help with insurance I can forward his contact info to you.
